Hi everyone. Have had a scan today after being on stimulation drugs for 9 days. They have said today that only one follicle is mature and that if I take the drugs for a few more days their might be a maximum of three by Monday.
Obviously this isn’t great (I had six follicles/six eggs last time and they weren’t optimistic about that either).
The likelihood of having three follicles on Monday is slim and I’m not sure it’s worth going ahead with egg retrieval with only one or two follicles (I would get £3,000 refund from this cycle if I didn’t have egg retrieval).
I’ve seen online that it’s possible to convert to IUI so I was wondering if anyone has any experience of this or even whether it’s worth just having sex as we don’t have any functional things causing our infertility (just my low AMH).

I’d say if you know exactly when you’re going to ovulate (assuming they would let you use your trigger) then iui or just natural methods would be a pretty good shout. We’ve had 12 months of ivf hell following 3 and a half years of unexplained infertility and had a failed FET cycle with a top grade embryo (one of my 14 in the freezer) in November/December. We were devastated and I needed to feel like I was doing something productive while I waited to start again. I had a scan at the end of December (nothing to do with the clinic) when I got positive ovulation sticks which confirmed imminent ovulation and I’m now 5-6 weeks pregnant. Obviously we got massively lucky in getting this far but it might be worth a try! Good luck with whatever you decide
Yes, I’ll have my trigger shot. I’m just wondering if there was anyone out there who had examples of what their follicles were looking like pre-trigger shot. I’m fairly convinced I’ll be at the point there are one or two mature eggs with maybe some little tiny ones as well. Have people gone ahead with egg retrieval with one or two eggs. Just feels like a very expensive gamble.
