2WW FET Symptoms?!

I’m finding something puzzling…

I’ve been searching the forums and website for people’s experiences during the 2WW as I battle through my own!!

A lot of women display typical AF or early pregnancy symptoms and questions whether these are signs of good things to come or the dreaded arrival of AF.

There are lots of women that respond saying that the progesterone’s pessaries, I’m taking Cycolgest can be the reason for these symptoms, sore boobs, bloating, gassiness, backache etc. However, is it fair to say that if these symptoms are being experienced post embryo transfer, they’re a good sign?

I took progesterone pessaries 5 days prior to my frozen embryo transfer and never got any symptoms; symptoms have only developed since embryo transfer. Why would the pessaries only be causing symptoms after transfer? If they were going to cause symptoms surely they would have happened long before…

Hi Hayley- In my experience the longer you take the pessaries the more symptoms you can get from them so you might not have had any before transfer but they start to kick in after. There’s just no way to know if it’s periods, pessaries or pregnancy hormones causing those symptoms until the test day I’m afraid as they are all so similar!! It’s the same with spotting/light bleeding, could be any of the 3! It’s like another wicked trick our bodies play on us! Wishing you lots and lots of luck for test day 🤗 xxx

You’re right!!

It’s horrible, the 2WW, the anxiety, stress worry! Thank you for the well wishes and I wish you all the best on your journey. X

Hi HayleyL. Probably because you have been building up your progesterone levels, so that it would be then that you experience symptoms - if at all. I think we listen too closely to our bodies during the 2WW which then develops into full blown anxieties. Try and keep busy if you can, and fingers crossed for test day. Diane

Hiya. Thank you for taking the time to respond.

We do indeed, every cramp, twinge and flutter we examine and it’s not good, it doesn’t help! Time will tell.

Thank you for the well wishes and I wish you all the best on your journey.
