Confused 2nd scan! 😩

Hi everyone

Just wondering if any has experienced or come across this before.

Had my 2nd scan today. They say my lining has improved but cannot find my ovaries 🤷‍♀️

Two days ago they were there. Theyve not really said a great deal to me other than take my bloods & said someone will contact you this afternoon but looks like cancelling the cycle.

I could understand if they said there was no progress since the 1st scan 2 days ago but saying they cant find my ovaries has baffled me.

Just waiting in anticipation for the call but preparing myself for the worse.

This was our last chance...... what a journey 😢.

Hope everyone is doing well on their journeys & wish you all the luck 🍀xx

I would stay away from a clinic that cannot find your ovaries on a scan. Probably better to cancel and find another clinic!

Hi I used them for my first cycle & got 6 follicles with 2 fertilising but unfortunately didn’t implant.

This 2nd cycle (changed protocol) seems to have made the ovaries disappear.

Im going to have to accept it wont happen for us. This journey is too tough to tolerate long term physically/ mentally and financially. ......

So sorry, but the ovaries should not disappear. Maybe do another scan?

Im so sorry your going through this.I didn't think ovaries can just diasapear??? Do u mean there are no follicles on the ovaries anymore? I would want some serious answers from this clinic lovely. It all sounds a bit odd to me. Xxx

Hi. Well thats what I thought. They said ovaries. The confusing part is that on Wednesday they were there and said was some tiny follicles theres.

It is very odd. I have to go back Monday for another scan but definitely not building my hopes up?

The strange thing is ive been getting backache and twinges in my stomach so feels like something is going on in there but clearly the scan is saying otherwise.

I will be asking them on Monday. Xxx

I had wandering ovaries - where the left was sitting on my womb and they took a while to find it, and another while to work out left from right, but never disappearing ovaries! Apparently they move around sometimes, but like, I’m sure they should still be there??? Sorry you’ve had such a crappy experience.

Sorry to hear about your experience ! When you go on Monday I would ask for some clarification / explanation . I hate phone calls as find it easier to ask questions face to face . I also have my second scan on Monday and am very nervous 😬 as my scan /bloods yesterday didn’t look great and I have very low amh/ low follicles . Everything crossed for you x x x

Hi, Im so sorry for what you are going through, the ovaries cannot dissappear, however they can hide. At some point in my treatment they could not see my left ovary, that was due to my ovary to be situated slightly higher than the right one and was hiding and was difficult to see. I'm just talking in my experience i wish you the best of luck xx

I'm so sorry to read this for you as this is the last thing you need! During one of my early scans they really had to root around for my left ovaries. I agree with a comment above, ask to speak to someone before you leave Monday if they can't find something as it's much easier than on the phone. You are their patient they have to take your concerns and journey seriously. Wishing you the best of luck! Xxx

I had this all the time and they eventually find them even using abdominal scan. Ask for the OBGYN to do the scan. They are more experienced.

Not what you're looking for?
