Next steps on fertility journey, platelet rich plasma (PRP) maybe?

Hello ladies,

My history: 39 never TTC until less than a year ago (met my husband at 37 and we were living apart)

Because of my age and bad exams we were planning on going straight to IVF without trying natural. However Covid changed our plans and in March during the lockdown we got pregnant on our first try but had a blighted ovum and miscarried at 7 weeks. Did 2 IVFs cycles, one had chemical pregnancy with the one embryo we had and second even though we had more eggs we got no embryo. We were preparing to do PRP on ovaries to try to increase egg quality then tried natural once again but had a miscarriage at 8 weeks after having a strong 155bpm heartbeat 😢

Now I don’t know what to do. We obviously had some luck but getting pregnant twice in 2 tries tells me we still should have a decent chance, but I’m a poor responder to IVF. So I don’t know anymore if I should still do the PRP because I’m afraid it can hurt my body instead of improving. I’ve read all studies and they are promising but it’s a developing science.

Please, please let me know if you had any good or bad experiences with it?!

Looks like your rate of success is higher naturally and very good. Maybe you should stick to it but try to take some drugs to help the embryo stick (prednisolone etc).

We do that already. This last natural I was on prednisone, levonox, aspirin, progesterone IM and vaginal and did IV immunoglobulins. We may still try natural but I really wanted to make IVF work better to depend less on luck

Hi I was 37 and trying for my 3rd but my partners first, at the time my other kids were 12 and 10 so a big gap. We conceived in 4 mths but we mc at 12w blighted ovum then had another 2 mc one grew til 9w but found out again at 12w scan and then next one we had an early scan just before 9w ended up blighted again thought possibly ectopic but “luckily” wasn’t just didn’t grow mc at 12w. Had tests done for reoccurring mc they were normal and fertility tests I had a low amh at 39 but age related no ivf was offered and was told we’d have a better chance naturally still. I had a hsg just to be sure then had a further 2 chemical pregnancies, I gave up I turned 40 I had lost weight and increased my fitness just to try to move on and focused on myself instead of a baby constantly. 6 mths later we had another positive test obviously scared of another mc we had a scan at 6w 10/13/16/19w now he’s 3 & 1/2w old took us 4 yrs from me coming off birth control but he’s finally here just took one good strong egg which I really didn’t think I had left but my body decided otherwise.

Long story of sad moments with a happy ending. I’m happy for you. We are still hoping for a miracle a little while longer. Thanks for sharing
