butterfliez I feel the exact same! I was a bit naive in my first round, so was in total shock with the end result. It’s hard isn’t it, to get that balance of...positive but realistic..😂😂 yesss! Apres Christmas ivf is the best, will be totally worth eating all that extra food, we defo won’t feel those injections as much!
Wishing you the best of luck for 2021 🤍🤞🏽 Xx
Good luck! Im on day 3 of Buserelin on my first ICIS cycle!
Got to inject until 11th Jan then have my scan on the 12th to check my womb lining.
Suprisingly okay, maybe i was thinking the worst that i would get side affects from the first day!? But so far so good!! How did you find your first cycle?
That’s good to hear!. I was lucky I didn’t get any side effects either, just a craving for making myself feel better with chocolate 🤣 sadly I didn’t get to transfer the eggs I got from the first cycle, so they have altered the medication for this one ☺️
Hey, I'm on the same schedule as you Hidden ! Did my 2nd Buserelin injection this morning.First ICSI cycle too - currently have no idea how I'm meant to be feeling, I'm 42 so I know it's a long shot but fingers crossed 🤞
I was fine with the idea of the injection, and the first one was fine, but the second really hurt - it bled for a few minutes and I've a circular bruise, so I definitely did something wrong! It made me a lot more apprehensive doing it this morning 🤣 (all fine though, I'd love to know how I messed it up though!)
We had to go private because I'd be a geriatric pregnancy - I just love that term!! round here I think the NHS will do a single round but only if you're under 39. Still, just lucky to be able to afford it.
I can't picture it working, but also I can't picture it failing - I think it's take us so long to get to this stage (and we were meant to start last March, but COVID!) that I don't know what's beyond it; does that make sense? Also I've got everyone telling me not to get my hopes up, so I don't feel I'm allowed to be positive/excited just yet!
I keep thinking i havent done them right because im not getting any side effects but i dont know how i could be doing them wrong😂
We have had to go private too! My AMH was initally too low to qualify for the NHS here, and my BMI wad too high. However my AMH ended up going up ( to 0.1 above the NHS threshold) but with my BMI still being too high we decided to stick with private as by the time i had sorted that and been on the waiting list, chances are my AMH would be too low again!
Weve been super lucky as family have helped towards paying for it. We have also gone through access fetility and paid for 3 rounds so i have a bit of comfort knowing if 1 doesnt work i have another couple of goes.
Its a whole mix of emotions isnt it! Especially with covid thrown in ( were being super careful not seeing anyone over xmas etc.
Aww Chicky86 I’m so sorry to hear that! I hope you’re ok?! It’s not the best time of year to have to go through grief. I hope you’re appointment goes well on the 13th. Sending you lots healing vibes ✨💫 xx
I'm having an endometrial scratch on the 12th January, after that we are doing and natural modified FET on the next cycle, so beginning-mid of February 🤞🤞🤞 good luck to everyone on your 2021 journeys!!! Xx
Hi hun, did the clinic advise a scratch, if your request just be cautious, 1 they are very painful and 2. no evidence it improves pregnancy rate. There was a big article in the Daily Mail last week about add ons and how many are unnecesaary and some are more damagaging and dont help xxx
Hi Nmhbaxy! For me it felt pretty much like a smear test, but some people find it really painful. Here is a link to the HFEA where they explain how it works hfea.gov.uk/treatments/trea...
Hi Sunset! My consultant recommended it. She said research shows that they improve chances when you've had 2 or more failed implantations with good quality embryos, which I had. This will be my second scratch, I had one in August and I didn't find it painful, and I got pregnant in the following cycle but unfortunately I miscarried at 8 weeks. You know how it works, different clinics different advice... The HFEA considers that there isn't enough evidence to prove it adds any benefits but at the same time they can't confirm it doesn't. It's a pretty cheap procedure considering the prices of IVF treatments so I definitely think it's worth a try 😊 thanks for sharing your concerns though! Xx
Good luck with your next cycle! I am due to start my second FET after a missed miscarriage. I worry they’ll start cancelling cycles as Covid cases rise, just as they did last March. We were 6 days away from transfer day when they rang to break the news - I think I would not recover if they did that again... Let’s hope 2021 is good one for us all xx
I'm so sorry about your miscarriage 😔 It's also my biggest fear that treatment will be cancelled due to Covid. We had our first appointment at the clinic last Feb and only now having our first cycle so another delay would be heartbreaking. Keeping everything crossed for us all! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 This whole process is stressful enough without Covid making it worse! xx
ZessB im so sorry to hear about your missed miscarriage! Sending you lots of healing vibes 🤍✨Wishing you the best of luck for your FET. Fingers crossed they don’t cancel, I can’t imagine they would again! I think the first time was panic mode, surely now they know things need to keep going, medically anyway.
Sunflower_12 best of luck to you! What date are you starting? I’m sorry to hear about your first cycle, mines wasn’t great either. Buttttt I do hear that’s more common than not. So fingers crossed, the 2nd cycle is the one for us!! ✨🤍 xx
As soon as my January period arrives which should be around the 14th 🤞🏼 I’ve to call to start drugs immediately, hoping this protocol is much better as I have a high ASH for my age 39. Last cycle I had 27 follicles but only 3 eggs collected as the drugs didn’t work how they’d hoped, 1 fertilised which was then a BFN.
Like you hoping for good things this time 🙂positive thoughts for a successful 2nd time for us both! ❤️
I had 4 fresh cycles, and the rest are frozen, the last 3 fet are donor embryos , got pregnant in December 2 embryos but had chemicals, then again at the end of March 1 embryo chemical again, and this is my last embryo left so fingers crossed it works, if not it’s game over for me no more funds , I paid for all goes , so in total it’s 14 embryos, put back in including this one 😘😘😘
Good luck to you! I am on the verge of starting a natural FET, this is the first that isn't medicated so a little different as not much to do but as I know my cycle inside out I know transfer will be 20-22 Jan. Wishing you all the luck in the world xxx
Ahhh thanks hon, good luck to you too! Hoping that all the time off and relaxing will help this one stick. Baby dust and hoping the same for you next month xxx
Hi Ladies! Just found this post and thought I would comment, I am on day 5 of Buserelin of my first round. I’m also not feeling any side effects yet which is good but also wonder if I’m not doing it right!! Scan is 19th Jan, estimated collection is 1st Feb. 🤞Lots of ladies starting this month, can’t wait to hear how everyone is getting on.
Hey, I actually started my stims last night. At my scan they could see 1 large follicle so they needed to do some bloods before I could start stims but had my confirmation yesterday.
Buserelin has been kicking ass the last 10 days or so, hot flushes and killer headaches so I’m not looking forward to them carrying on and any symptoms I get from stims 🙈
How are you doing? Will you be having a scan next week? X
Oh myyy tell me about it! I’ve been a sweaty mess through the night 😆 I’ve just been drinking lots and lots of water to fight any headaches off too. Have you reduced your buserelin now? My hot flushes have pretty much worn off now which is good and don’t have any other symptoms apart from a few twinges. Yeah I’ve got my scan planned for Monday ☺️ When’s your next scan? X
Hi Rol81 I’m day 3 of meriofert so we’re extremely close. How are you finding things? Have you had any symptoms? The buserelin has been making me have hot flashes but it’s not too bad with it being winter I suppose x
