After my consultation yesterday regarding my Complete Failure to Fertilise, my embryologist has suggested we try Artifical Oocyte Activation. Has anyone used this method before? As far as my research goes its basically a 'Calcium Bath' that my egg is dipped in once injected using ICSI. This method can assist whether it is my egg, or hubby's sperm that is struggling to activate. I really didn't want to use ICSI again, but willing to try anything! X

Yes, we used AOA on our successful 3rd round. We used it to help blastocyst development rather than fertilisation, but we got a marginally better fertilisation rate and all 6 of our embryos reached blastocyst stage. On our previous 2 rounds, we'd not had any reach blastocyst so nothing frozen. 3rd round with AOA, 6 blastocysts. One fresh transferred (our 5month old daughter) and 2 the same grade as our daughter were frozen. Sending you all our best wishes for your next round. 🤞 x
Oh wow thats amazing! Congratulations 💗 My 1st normal IVF cycle I didn't reach blastocyst in any either so this really makes me feel more positive! This will be out 3rd round too. Thank you so much for sharing. Sending love xx
