I woke up to a small amount of red spotting in my pyjamas this morning. I am 13dp5dt of two fresh embryos (transfer was Wed 11th Nov).
My clinic said to change the pessaries to rectally incase it’s irritation. I asked whether to increase the progesterone but they said no. Why not? I am taking 2 x cyclogest and 1x lubion injection. I added an extra pessary anyway hope it’s ok.
After this I had some brown when wiping. Could it be pessary irritation? Is progesterone irritation usually only red or can be brown too? How many days after transfer does it take for embryos usually to implant? I’m assuming it is too late for implantation bleeding as would take place earlier than day 13?
Usually with my period it starts brown and flow becomes more and turns red. I found it strange it started with red spotting then turned brown when I wiped.
Has this happened to anyone and gone on to have a positive test? I am due to test this Thursday but as this point am crying and think it’s over and I won’t get to test before bleeding occurs
Am laid in bed all day so far. Not sure what to do.
Xx

Really do try not to worry, red is always a shock, but the reason why you have probably had red and then brown, is just that a bit of the red blood has stayed in side and slowly gone brown before coming out. Blood goes brown as it gets old. The first thing to address is quite rightly whether the blood is just irritation of the cervix so swap to rectally. This is the same as I was advised and it felt like a relief not putting pessaries into where I had bleeding. You’re on a good dose of progesterone with the added lubion, so whilst it will do no harm to have taken the extra one, your clinic are probably right that you don’t need to increase. Can they offer you a progesterone blood test to put to mind at rest?
Try to just distract yourself with tv or a series and take it easy, hopefully it will all stop now, try not to worry if you Still see small amounts of brown blood for a day or so now xx
Thank you Orla9298, I had red spotting in my pyjama bottoms though :(. Since then brown but seems to have slowed up again. OK I have swapped to rectally, fingers crossed it is that. Good idea i might ask for a progesterone test to check levels.
I 100% understand the worry when you see ANY blood, I’m just trying to reassure you, but do keep an eye on it and let the clinic know if you have more bleeding. I really hope it stops for you now. Sometimes it can just be the little embie snuggling in. Maybe you could ask for two hcg tests 48 hours apart to see how it’s rising if you have a positive xx
Thank you, I do feel some hope that it may be ok after reading your post :). Good idea re hcg tests, I'll ask for that also if I have a positive test. Thanks for the advice and support xx
