Right so for almost 2 years me and my partner have been trying to conceive and still no baby it’s really getting me down and I have no one to talk to because I don’t know anyone who’s been through this, I have done everything I’ve been advice to do, for eg, I stopped smoking I’ve been stopped for 7 months now I don’t drink I’ve cut out fatty foods but still nothing I’ve had so many blood tests and the doctors aren’t really giving me any answers apart from saying they need more bloods and then there going to refer me to the fertility clinic which I’m happy about because then I will have more answers but my periods are really irregular I haven’t had a period for 118 days now, so I never know when I’m ovulating I’ve just started taking folic acid as I’ve read that that’s a good thing too do but I feel like it’s never going to happen and I really need some advice has anyone got any tips or advice they can give me??
Thankyou in advance

Really feeling sorry for you that you are going through this.. You are in the right place here all brave warriors great ladies.. It is good for you to refer to fertility clinic now they will start what is best for you.. Best of luck for your new journey... 🤞🤞
Hello, I know how you feel. My advise will be really hard even I can't do it now. I was trying for 3 years and was starting IVF on Nov last year. I did not want a baby as I would like to wait for IVF and wish to have two embryos transfer but curtainly I was pregnant just 1 month b4 start IVF. As I heard lots of pppl said when you stop thinking about it it will come. Good luck xx
It’s so hard isn’t it, it gets me down a lot as the one thing I want more than anything is to have a family but Thankyou for you advice and good luck too you, I wish you all the best xx
You will always have someone to talk to here. I’ve only recently joined the forum but I’ve seen lots of supportive posts. You are doing the right things by taking folic acid. I also have irregular periods and was able to get a diagnosis after further tests at the fertility clinic. I’ve got my fingers crossed for you x
You have come to the right place. We are all here to support each other in what can be a very lonely road to conceiving. Hopefully once you have all your tests results & your partner’s sperm results back & you speak to a specialist you’ll have some idea of what’s happening in your bodies. Don’t assume it’s all you! Your fertility team will help you create a treatment plan. In the meantime, eat healthy, fit in some exercise, stay of the cigarettes, keep your mind positive & relaxed. You & your partner should both take a ‘trying to conceive’ multivitamin. I buy mine of Amazon through their subscribe & save. This means a box arrives every month & I don’t need to remember to reorder so I never run out! Good luck lovely Xx
It really can be so lonely so it’s nice to talk to women who’ve also been/going through this aswell I’ve already taken the vitamins and they’ve not helped we was both taking them for a few months but they didn’t help I think I’m going to try them again Thankyou so much and good luck to you xx
Hey Clpops I am in the same boat and the not knowing was the hardest! I would definitely push for the fertility clinic. There are some great podcasts which share information and advice about supplements and things you can do. I would recommend BFN and practically fertile. They really helped me to understand more what could be going on for me and advice! Good luck x
Clpops1235 i completely understand your frustration. It’s so hard trying to conceive and not knowing the reason why it’s not happening. I was in that same boat for 3 years. Just keep looking after yourself until you get your referral where you will hopefully get answers. Just try not to be too hard on yourself. This group is really good for support xx
So sorry you're going through this. You're not alone. In the blood work they've taken, do you know if they have tested your hormones and Prolactin, Full thryroid profile, DHEAs and Androstenedione? Also have they ruled out PCOS? Xx
They’ve not really explained anything to do with my bloods but I’m going to call them tommorow and get some more information and yeah they’ve ruled out pcos I went for an ultrasound internal and external and they ruled out pcos almost immediately xx
Great that they ruled that out. Definitely chase your bloods and see if they did do a full work up. I wasted 4 years and thousands of pounds to finally have all my answers from a £39 test! Don't let them fob you off. And it may be worth asking to get referred to an Endocrinologist if you're not already with one Xx
Hi Clpops1235, I've also just joined this site. I know what you mean about wanting it more than anything and it's so hard the not knowing and...the waiting! I was waiting for a GP referral to a clinic in a hospital (I think from your post that's what you are doing?) but was told it would take months because of delays following the lockdown so we went ahead and did private tests and consultation as there was a wait of weeks for that. I'm not sure if that's an option for you, but it really sped things up and I wished I'd done it way sooner even perhaps when we started trying to conceive as then for us we would have known then that IVF is likely to be our only answer. Hindsight and all that! Well done on making lots of positive lifestyle changes! Good luck with it all! xx
Thankyou for your advice, I have been looking into going private so I think I might have to do that, Thankyou it’s means a lot and good luck too you! I hope all goes well xx
