Anyone on long protocol?? Did you get more follicles as time went on?

Hi everyone I am doing long protocol this time. Just wondering if anyone doing the same? Was on BCP 21days and doing stims now. It seems my ovaries are still asleep I only have 3 very very tiny follicles atm I hope I get more. Anyone get more later on in cycle? Thanks in advance

Hi there! Fingers crossed for your cycle 🤞🏽 I’m on the long protocol too but will only be on norethisterone for 12 days (and will start buserelin on Thursday). It’s my first time on this protocol too but was told this helps doctors to control our follicles much better.

How many days have you been stimming for? They may review your scans and decide to increase your dosage - this is what happened in my first protocol too. Xx

Hi PenguinBlue I have been on stims 9 days and they call me a poor responder so I know I will be on them for another week at least. They are happy with 3 so far and being the same size. I am just not as last time I started with 8 follicles retrieved 3, fertilized 2, none made it to day 5. I guess it's early days. I go for another scan tomorrow. Let me know how you go with your cycle, really hope we get our little miracles!!

Ah I understand! If you’re slower in responding then it’s still definitely early days for you as you’ve got another week to get them growing. Fingers crossed they continue growing beautifully and you get a few more pop up as your scans continue!

Hi Pittapatta,

I'm doing long protocol right now, day 6 of stims today. Last time they told me I was a slow responder, so this time they are not even going to bother scanning until day 9 of stims. I got plenty of follicles last time, and 8 mature eggs (only 1 blasto though). Seemingly that wasn't as much as they were expecting. They added menopur to this cycle, so hopefully I don't have to do the stims for longer time, and I still get better results.

I was told your AMH should be a guide for follicles. Mine was 22 and they counted 19 follicles. I think a couple more grew but weren't anywhere near maturity. I got 13 eggs from my long protocol in the end.

Just an update I went for scan today, am much happier they found another 3 follicles! Still tiny but they will grow. The other 3 have grown too they are all around 1. So very happy. I hope you are all going well!
