Hello, just wondering do all blastacysts hatch? Even low grades? I had a 5BC transferred and it has started to hatch a little before being transferred, wondering if this is a good sign?

Hatching blast
Hi Tilly, hatching is def a good sign. Best of luck!
All blasts have to hatch 🐣 in order to attach and implant. Think they have to be transferred prior to day 6 as the onward process needs to happen in the uterus. If it's only started to hatch I would think that would be fine as there is a process called assisted hatching which you can pay for prior to transfer, as some blasts struggle to hatch. I'd take the initiation of hatching as a good sign that things are working well and it could attach soon after transfer. All the best 💖🤰
I'm glad you asked this question as it's the same as me ,so it's interesting to listen to people ,is what I'm not sure of is does it need to fully hatch to form a pregnancy or can it still happen if it only just begun to hatch x
Hi, I had a 5 day hatching Transferred Saturday and they chose this one over the non-hatching one which we froze as they said it was a good thing that it started hatching! Fingers crossed! X
Me too, did they say a grade? Which hospital are you at? How are you getting on with your wait?x
The wait is a nightmare only 3 days and have cramps so jump to assuming the worse need to stop thinking about it! When’s your test day? Its numerical not alphabetical at my clinic we had 5 day 1:1.
Here's some positive research in relation to grade 5 (hatching) blastocysts:
Transfer of spontaneously hatching or hatched blastocyst yields better pregnancy rates than expanded blastocyst transfer
Extending culture of expanded blastocysts by a few hours to allow transfer of spontaneously hatching/hatched blastocysts gives higher implantation and pregnancy rates with no added risk of multiple gestations. Spontaneously hatching/hatched blastocysts have a better potential to implant and develop into a positive pregnancy.
Hi I had my embrio transfered on the 19th October it was a day5 blastocyst and it had hatched. The clinic were very happy and said it’s a really good thing for this to happen, I done my test on 31 October and it was a BFP, hope this helps and I wish you all the luck xx
