Hi, hope anyone can help. I have had my tests done at St Mary's hospital only to just find out that we have to pay for some of the treatments as my partner is not a British national. I'm stressing out so much because I have no clue yet how much its going to cost. Anyone else been through this aswell?

Paying for some of the treatment?
Hiya, something similar happened to us actually. We had to do 4 IUI’s to be able to get funding for IVF, just to be told we weren’t eligible because I’m not a British national. We had no idea as OT is British.
We ended up having to go private & pay for everything.
So sorry it’s happening to you too. This journey is hard enough without the financial stress on top x
Hi yeah this is pretty standard - especially when the woman receiving the treatment is not a British National. It doesn’t matter so much when it’s the man who isn’t British because all they do is give a sample whereas all of the treatment which costs money is centred on the woman eg scans, medication, collection and transfer
All I would say is that most clinics have finance plans now, we took out a bank loan over 5 years
I am British but my partner isn't. We have a video call next week with the finance secretary and she will tell us how much we have to pay for my partners side of the treatment
It will very much depend on your local area and the CCG that governs it. Most will treat you as a couple so if one is an overseas visitor/not a British citizen then neither is eligible. But it might not be the same for all CCGs?
I think there was a big policy only a couple of years ago and before that it was easier for foreign nationals to get IVF under the reciprocal agreements a lot of countries have
