I went for my first FET scan today hoping to be the only one, however it turns out my uterus lining (My little pillow as I call it) isn’t thick enough to move forward,,,,,, I’m 8.6mm and it needs to be 9mm can you believe it 0.4mm to go , such a tiny amount 🙄 It’s over an hour drive and organising time off work is difficult , it’s just my luck ,,,,,, gotta go back on Thursday, fingers crossed It gets thicker ,,,,, 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
Lining not thick enough 😕: I went for... - Fertility Network UK
Lining not thick enough 😕
Im sure it wil Blue. As you said its a tiny way to go. There were plenty posts on here and i believe alot of them mentioned vitamin e.
I did that for last fet, gentle exercise like walking or anything to get the blood flow moving and nice warm food 🤞🤞🤞🤞
Thanks for the advice I am quite physically active in my job so that helps, and I take 4mg of vitamin E every day in my multivitamins so hopefully it’ll jump up in the next 2 days 🤞🏻X Warm food sounds good though I’m always hungry now the drugs have kicked in 😋😂
Oh Blue I feel your pain! I had a similar situation with my last FET, my lining was 7.9mm and they wanted it to be 8mm at that scan 🙈 They had me to go back 5 days later and upped my progynova even though I pushed for them to count it as ok 🤣
Anyway when I went back my lining had jumped to 10.2mm and all was ok. I know it's annoying but I thought if I didn't work out then I'd always be questioning myself over the 0.1mm!! 🙈
I wish you lots of luck with your next scan xx
They didn’t want to up my progynova so I’m presuming they have faith in it increasing x Thank you for telling me this though it gives me more hope 😊🤞🏻Xx
When is your FET? Mine is next Tues and I had lining check today and its only at 7mm. Although I was told it was fine?! Now I'm worried! x
My fertility clinic protocol is a minimum of 9mm before planning an FET, I did say I’d done research saying the lining needs to be 7-8mm for the procedure to go ahead but they said we won’t go ahead under 9mm so it’s frustrating but it is what it is. My expected FET is 30th according to my calculations but I’m waiting on a date as yet. I guess all clinics have different protocols x Good luck with the transfer hopingforbfp and if you google it that’s the information I got. x
Don’t worry, each clinic has a different protocol. I’ve had 2 x FETs at two different places and both wanted 7mm+ ideally (but would still transfer at 6.5+), my linings were always under 8mm when I added the progesterone. I got my BFP on the second go. Unfortunately it ended in a MMC but my clinic said that wasn’t the reason and that my lining had been fine. They look for 3 stripe lines which is a marker of healthy uterus too xx
Oh I’m in your boat! I had a scan day 8 and it was 6.7 so they’ve put me on 4x progynova a day now and my next scan is tomorrow (day 14), it’s fine my transfer is Tuesday.
My last FET it just got to 8mm and we went ahead. I’m so hoping it’s thickened up more this time. I’m not sure there really is much you can do about it??! My clinic won’t run under 7mm but the nurses said they wouldn’t put it forwards if less than 8. They also said the triple lining was more important than the thickness.
Fingers crossed for tomorrow for you! How frustrating the clinics have different protocols.
I agree that there’s not much you can do other than get the blood flowing by exercise x Good luck for Tuesday I bet your getting excited now 😊xx
I agree with the frustration of different clinic protocols as it’s get everyone worried but google states in ivf Uterus lining must be 7-8mm before transfer so they all follow the basic guidelines and it works 😊 I think the 3 layers as one lady mentioned is the most important part of it xx Good luck on your journey Xx
As someone who has suffered with thin linings I feel your pain!! But honestly that’s not much for it to increase in a few days. A few things you can try - raspberry leaf tea, pomegranate juice, beetroot juice, a higher dose of vitamin E. Acupuncture is also really good but unless you’re already doing that I wouldn’t worry. I had 3 medicated FETs cancelled as I couldn’t get my lining above 6.5mm but most recently did a natural FET and my lining got above 7mm, they transferred & I got a BFP. As others have said the quality of your lining is also really important. Good luck! xx
Hey Blue1978,
I had the exact same thing, i went for the first scan and i was 6, then the next scan I shrunk down to 4 😔 at this point my embryos were frozen as my planned fresh fell through due to my lining not being there either in the November 2017 - i was given a break to see if that helped. So in the month of march 2018 i was given 5 tablets of estrogen (blasted with loads of it!!) I also had a diet high in protein & ate alot of green food as I had read green foods good. I also ate bags n bags of brazil nuts and ohhh boy! When I went for my scan my lining was there, perfect (but literally just made it over the set thickness) i then carried on with all my eating habits until emby transfer, and up til my test 😊 i know its not much but maybe something in my experience can help with. My little boy is 2 in November 2020 😍
I naturally have low estrogen levels it turns out 🤷🏻♀️xxx
Well I hope it does for you.
My problem was my womb was slippery. Then informed after the IVF failed it wasn't fit to carry a child. They hadn't given my the full story til I asked a lot of question about my next IVF go I was planning. Then they said it would be a difficult pregnancy with pain due to my bedded down adhesions, that at about 6 to 7 mths I would require a C section, that there also a possibility that I might lose part of my bowel. I felt the risks were to high. I'd been very unwell during the last IVF drugs and hormone depressed since the miscarriage.
I gave up. Since my partner and split 10yrs ago as my Endo has got worse there is no way I could have coped with a child or managed to support us. Without any family to help it was a blessing.
I hope you manage the baby you want.
💕
i've heard anything 8mm or over is absolutely fine for an FET cycle. It will definately have caught up the 0.4mm by transfer as on average lining grows about 1mm per day and still thickens a little after ovulation / pesseries starting. With my son before transfer ( 6 days prior it was 8.9mm and i could go ahead. A tiny difference won't affect it at all. Don't worry thats a great cushion!! Good luck xxx
Thanks for the reassurance 😊 I totally agree and expressed this argument to the nurse but it’s their protocol and won’t go below 9mm. I’m sure it’ll be fine 🤞🏻X
I personally had spend years of cancelling cycles due to my thin linning. It would only get to 5mm.On this cycle, among other things,I used a hot watter bottle twice a day and got to 6.8.I know it doesn't sound much but to me it was a success. I am now 8 weeks pregnant Good luck.
Well ladies, I’m now 9.4mm with what the nurse said a beautifully clear triple layer 😁 I’m absolutely over the moon,,,,, Transfer next Thursday ,,,,,, So excited 😆 Xx Thank you all for your advice and well wishes,,,,, We’re on our way to completing this unbelievable rollercoaster of a journey to get that bun in the oven and then ,,,,,,, tick tock 2WW is on it’s way 🧭⏱⏱⏱⏱⏱
Woohoo blue! So happy for you. Have all my toes and fingers tossed for you xxx
So I had a hot water bottle on my tummy when I could, I ate a normal diet and included pomegranates and blueberries,,,,,, I’m sure it’ll thicken sweetheart I definitely think the heat on my tummy helped as does moderate exercise as it gets the blood circulating good,, I’ve got my transfer in 3 hours 🤞🏻 xx Keep me updated and I’m sure you’ll get there (great things come to those who wait 😉) xx
