Anyone started the pill mid cycle? Gearing up for another egg collection

Hey all,

I have PCOS so my periods are always all over the place. I unfortunately had a MMC from my second FET and had a d&c on 30th Aug.

I’ve been waiting for a period in order to start the pill and then schedule a second bleed and start stims...

HOWEVER still no period so I’ve been told to start on the pill anyway for at least 15 days. Has anyone done this?

How many periods do you need to have following d&c before having an egg collection?

Sorry if I seem dumb, my last egg collection feels like forever ago and was a different place (NHS) so I feel confused. I always had to go on norehisterone to get a period previously.

Hi Peanutchips,

Really sorry to hear about your difficult journey. I’ve been put on the pill before for 15days. My clinic told me that’s the shortest time possible to stimulate a period. When I came off the pill it took a little longer than normal for my period to start (7 days in the end I think).

Hi peanut chips (is it weird everytime I see your name I think of peanut butter cups? Lol) but whilst I haven’t had the same experience I have read of taking the pill to bring on a period.

Wanted to wish you lots of luck for this cycle, I start norethisterone on Thursday if you ever fancy a vent or would like a buddy xx

That’s what I normally get given to bring on a period (that’s why I was confused when I was told to go straight on the pill) Here’s hoping the next cycle is the magic one of us both! 🤞🏻🍀🌟

Haha they are so addictive, I’ll have to treat myself to some after this cycle (the struggle to be good and healthy!!)

Yay glad to have a buddy, I’ll be on norethisterone for 12 days so I think we should have pretty similar timelines for our EC!

Have you got a new protocol this time?

I’ll be doing the long protocol for the first time - slightly nervous with buserelin And the side effects but hoping it’ll help get me more mature eggs this cycle! Then will be on menopur and bemfola if all goes well.

Yes have all my fingers and toes crossed that this will be the magical cycle 🤞🏽🙏🏽✨ it feels like such a long road to get to this point but now can’t wait to start and get going! Hurry up Thursday!! Hope your day 1 of the pill is going okay xxx
