Egg collection!... 16 eggs, frozen cycle.

So I had my egg collection today, put of 29 follicles they retrieved 16 eggs.

I feel a little bumbed by the number as I know on each day with updates the number could possibly go down.

In survire pain from the procedure due to hydrosalphinx and endometriosis 7.5cm cyst.

How was everyone's numbers from egg collection, how many did you end up with at blastocyst stage?

Would love to hear everyone else experiences, now I have to wait for update and 29th October for appointment with consultant to talk about my surgery for hydrosalphinx & endometriosis cyst.

Please keep me in your prayers that I get some good numbers over the next few days.

16 eggs is fantastic, you should be really happy with that! Remember that not all of your 29 follicles would have been large enough to have an egg in them.

I had my egg collection on Friday and out of 18 follicles I got 8 eggs. I had my day 3 update from the lab yesterday and 6 still in the race. But really it's not the quantity that matters, it's the quality. Yes some do drop off as the days go on but you have a really good number to start with and you are bound to have some really strong ones in there. All it takes is one string healthy embryo and with 16 eggs your chances of having a few really good ones are high, so stay positive!

But I know your right quality over quantity. That's amazing u still have 6 in the race... hoping day 5 update goes well for u hun. Congrats jasmeet for having good number, mine were only 14 eggs become 8 embryos and eventually 5 blasts of 5 day and first one is in me(a boy) and 4 still in clinic 😉, hope you will get 7 or 8 blasts 😊

I only got 4 eggs, only one fertilised and miraculously made it to day 5, hatching blasto, grade 5AB 💞 currently 32 weeks.

16 is a fantastic number, but try not to get too hung up on the numbers lovely, we all want 'just one more' but its quality over quantity. Youve got this xx

Thank you hun, I know what u mean we get hung up on numbers I know I am for sure. I mean from start to now this whole experience has been horrific every single side effect from every down reg to the stims I got it.. plus now developed hydrosalphinx in both tubes. When I say I feel over it... plus the most excruciating pain yday om egg collection. Physically couldn't walk I dont know how i even held it together. So I'm just hoping for a couple with the will of god ofcourse. But congratulations on your beautiful hatching embryo that was super sticky!!

That’s a great number!! I had 22 follicles collected, 18 eggs, 8 made it blastocyst stage.

It’s not always about the quantity as the quality is what’s most important!

Fingers crossed you get a good number to blasto stage!! Xx

yes so after the number of eggs collected they had to postpone a fresh cycle and have all my blastocysts frozen due to high risk of OHSS so I had to wait 2 months (they make you wait for two periods) which was so gutting at the time. However totally worth it as I transferred 2 frozen embryos in February, one stuck and I am now 33 weeks present with a girl 😁.

I had 2 eggs collected, at first I was distraught . Only 1 went on to be viable for transfer but it was a Top Grade. Am now 7 weeks pregnant 🎉. It only takes one golden egg x

Thank you I guess at age 44 my eggs have decreased significantly.

Well am feeling very queezy & tired, up to toilet through night etc

My last pregnancy ended in miscarriage at 8 weeks so am very very anxious. However this time just feels very different as had no bleeding whatsoever.

My scan is next Monday it still feels so long away but am hoping for positive news 🙏🏻🤞🏼🌈

That's still a great number to start with Jasmeet. It's likely that the numbers will go down but fingers cross you will get some good blastocyst to freeze xx

Let's see today I'll get the phone call I just hope I'm in for a good chance I'm 29 good amh but have bad endo. They were like considering that I still have good numbers.. but going to do a frozen cycle as I've developed hydrosalphinx.

So hoping for good quality numbers so I can then focus on surgey. N everything else in the world with covid lol

I had this egg collection in 2018 so we are on a FET with embryo number 4 from these 6 ... which is currently sticking At 7w +5 But with some complications 🤞🏽Lots of luck to you xx

16 eggs is brilliant! Well done! I’ve only ever had half that from each of my egg collections and always have something to transfer. It really is quality over quantity that matters so you’re definitely still in the running - good luck!

Excellent numbers! Our clinic tells you to expect 3 quarters lost in general which has been right every cycle for me. 17 collected, 12 mature, half lost over night and remaining 3 lost over 4 days. 3 blastocysts in the end

Echo what others say about 16 being a great number!! My clinic actually said they had some evidence of quality over quantity as their success rates were higher for those who had 10-18 eggs collected than people who had more. I got most eggs on my last cycle.. 13 and now have a 4 month old 🥰Good luck! xx

16...Thats a really good number of eggs. Yes numbers do go down but try and not forget it only takes one first egg collection in 2016 I was 4 yrs younger than I am now... I had 14 eggs 9 fertilised 5 blastocysts...after 3 transfers all BFNs...second egg collection 2020 8 eggs collected 6 fertilised 3 blastocysts 1 fresh transfer in Feb and I'm currently 32 weeks pregnant tomorrow...Good luck xx

I think that's a brilliant amount of eggs, round two I had 13 eggs, were able to freeze 5 and my baby boy was successful from a frozen cycle x
