Hi ladies, I had my first IVF treatment on the 18th September and done my Beta Hcg blood test on the 30th September which came positive (191). Last 12 days I felt very good with no morning sicknesses and started getting worried and took home pregnancy test this morning which cane negative. Now I am freaking out, is there a chance that home pregnancy test is wrong? Or have I missed my baby without any symptoms? Thank you for your support and advices

Aww lovely. First of all i hope you can contact your clinic to put your mind at rest cause this is torture as many of us know. They might offer you a blood test?

What test did you use. Some tests show one line but thats the test line! The line is so strong it takes all the color from the control line. So please double check.

Are you on meds? Progesterone? Unfortunately most of the mmc happen silently as the progesterone stops you bleeding BUT if you were pregnant on week 4 i wonder if hcg is out of your systems so quick. Girls here report weeks and weeks of hcg after a mmc.

I hope you have an answer soon x

Thank you for your reply Mimisami,

I have used boots own and Clear Blue. Spoke to my GP and she will send me a blood test form so I can get blood test done today.

Yes, I am on progesterone.

Hopefully it’s nothing and my baby is safe :)

Take care xxx

I would contact your clinic and ask for more bloods to be done. It could be a false negative but unfortunately it could also be a true result as if you are on meds it can stop any bleeding from happening - sorry not intended to scare or upset you. Its awful sitting in limbo. Hugs.xx

Hi Rainbow. Pregnancy test kits are usually pretty good, but if I were you, I would contact your clinic and see whether they will check with a blood test for you, so you know what's going on. Good luck! Diane

Definitely do the blood test but also check out the hook theory - basically when there’s too much hcg in your blood, it gets too much for the rest to handle and it shows a false negative.

I wouldn’t give up hope yet for sure!!!

Hi ladies, I just wanted to update you guys with my situation. My blood results came yesterday and it’s been confirmed that I am having a miscarriage. After the initial shock and anger I am feeling much better today and will re try naturally after few months. Once again thank you so much for your support and kind words. Stay safe and happy everyone xxxx
