Pregnancy test 4 days after embryo transfer

hi, I had a 5 day transfer on Tuesday passed (4 days ago) and I know I shouldn’t have but I took a pregnancy today and it was negative...has anyone got a negative and then got a positive couple days later? My emotions are everywhere at the minute..

Hi Vicky, it’s far too early hun. The earliest you can really expect an accurate result would be day 9. Some people get positives earlier but it adds so much stress personally I wait to test. Give it a few more days xx

Not at all! Some people don’t get a positive until day 10. Try and relax and just wait it out x

Hi lovely, just seconding Millbanks here that it’s much too early. Implantation doesn’t even occur until 4-6 days after transfer and then, assuming implantation takes places, it takes several more days before HCG levels increase enough to be picked up by a test. xx

Frozen can take a couple of more days to implant. Also consider whether it was already hatching a 5 or 6 ( fully hatched) naturally they will implant sooner than a 3 or a stage 4. Honestly i would hang on until day 7 at the earliest with an early response but even then give it a few days if still negative. My lines were so faint until day 7 i am now 8 weeks 3 days. I am also 4dp5dt, it’s so hard isn’t it? All this worrying and over thinking everything. I’m sure it was just to early to test (I was tempted too)! Gonna try hold out till next week. Wishing you lots of luck x

I'm also 4dp5dt on Tuesday, and I've been trying to stay as calm and relaxed as possible. It's very stressful, how are you getting on? I haven't tested yet as I'm too scared, planning to wait till maybe 10dp5dt if I have the courage lol... have u had any symptoms x

Feeling so stress...regret taken the test today 😥 I have had cramps since the transfer, getting wee twinges today but nothing major..have u had any symptoms? Was urs a fresh transfer? Xx

I had a frozen embryo transfer, how bout you was yours frozen or fresh? I've been getting cramps and twinges and serious bloating which started today, and I've been really unusually sensitive and have been sneezing constantly which isn't normal for me. The stress is unbearable, I've held out because I don't want to upset myself and keep telling myself "I've got this, and God willing this will work and will become a mum" manifesting it into the universe hahaah.. whens your OTD? mines 19th x

Mines frozen as well..been Googling frozen transfers and it says they take a day or so longer to implant...my OTD is 19th as well, I don’t think I will be able to hold out until then before I take another test..I have to go back back to clinic on the 19th for blood test and then they officially tell me on the 20th...will u hold out to the 19th do u think? Xx

Omgoshh I've been googling aswel, looking at similar posts from 4dp5dt lol 😆🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ the stress is real lol... how exciting, well my clinic told me that on my OTD I need to do a preg test and call them with the result then I think they'll call me in for a blood test. I've taken 2 weeks off work and my OTD is my 1st day back to work, incase its bad news it gives me something to distract me. Fingers crossed its good news then I won't know how I'll contain myself hahaha... are u working from home or u booked time off from work?....I'm really going to try my hardest and hold out..... part of me wonders whether I should start testing from 10dp5dt to see. X

Too early my lovely. The 2ww is hell on earth though and I’m an early tester so I know what you’re going through. You need to wait a little while yet for an accurate result. Good luck xx

I got a negative at 4dpt but then I got a very faint line at 5dpt and it got darker everyday using a FRER. I couldn’t wait any longer either xx

Hi Vicky, I think is too early, I did my transfer on Saturday 27th March n I tested on thursday 1st April and it was negative, there was no line , I did the test again on Sunday and it was a BFP, so please give yourself sometime and check again. Wish you all the best

Hi Vicky yes i did i had my transfer on a Tuesday ( 2nd March) and had a negative on a saturday but a vvv light positive on the Sunday. 4 days you would be incredibly lucky to get a definitivie positive that day. Some ladies do but the vast majority don't. You are most definately not out yet! Good luck xx

Thanks, well 5 days is a bit early to test. You could use a FR on Wednesday ( 7 days past) as that would be fairly accurate then as it can pick up minute amounts of HCG - i think its 10 or 12 miu. I started getting a smidge of a line at 6 days past but to be totally without a doubt it took to day 7. I am 8 weeks + 4 today, baby was measuring 2 days ahead last week. Over the weekend came down with a congested nose/ cold so other than that i am ok. My embryo was a 3BB so was pleasantly surprised it took. Bit achy in back/chest and headache with this cold. I read its common to have pregnancy rhinitis where the nose swells causing congestion. Counting down to 12 week scan.... seems forever away lol!

Hi Vicky

Serial tester here (5 FETs). I would suggest testing with First Response on day 7, it should give you like a 97% accuracy. It’s a torturous process because once you start, it’s easy to get obsessed. But I totally understand, every time I swore I won’t test earlier than 7 days and I always did!

I caved in on day 7 post 5 day transfer. And had a positive. Give it a couple more days. I know it’s hard but I’m on day 15 now and it only stresses you out with looking at line progression. 🥴

I was the same and it just added more stress...it prob would show up now but I wouldn’t put urself through it incase it’s negative....I tested so early and every time I tested it was negative and kept saying to myself maybe it will be positive tomorrow...i was mental torture...try ur best to hold out...even until day 10...good luck xx

Yesterday was day 11 I tested again and it was still negative tomorrow I go for my blood test but I am already getting ready in my mind for another negative
