I recently had a failed cycle, my eggs didn’t fertilise so I didn’t get to transfer stage.
This was in August. I had a period on time at the end of August and I am now 6 days late for my September period. (Which is not like me) I have took a test and it’s negative.
I am waiting for my period to start so I can start my second round... when I told the nurse I was late she said “maybe wait for next month then” and I asked her why and she said “up to you”
My question is.. with my period being late, could this effect my next ivf cycle? Surely not? Should I wait until next month? Or am I ok to start on this period? What would you do?

I’m in a similar position my period arrived on time after ivf and I’m waiting for my next period. I’m due in a week but I have a feeling it’ll be late as I have not got the normal symptoms. Was your period after your failed cycle a normal bleed too?
My clinic has said to wait for atleast 3 bleeds but I don’t know if all clinics are the same. Just make sure you’re physically and emotionally ready before you start. I’m sorry it didn’t plan out this time. My period was normal after my failed embryo transfer.
I’m sorry your first cycle wasn’t successful 💔 ‘Up to you’ is not an answer, I think they should be specific and tell why they said to wait. Ask them what the risks are and follow their recommendations. This isn’t about what you want, of course we all want to start our treatments and get pregnant as soon as possible, but the most important this is to be 100% ready and have the best chances. Although waiting is horrible, I know... just ask why they suggested to wait. I hope you get to go ahead with the 2nd cycle and you have success this time! ✨
Thank you ❤️ I agree. I kept asking why and she said there’s no risks really it’s just up to you but probably better... so it’s really thrown me off. I feel perfectly fine and healthy but I don’t want to go ahead if I’m going to have a bad round?? You know... xx
Such a hard decision to me, on top of everything else! Periods never come when you want to 😑😫 but it’s all part of the journey and hopefully soon it will make sense xxxx
