How much will I need?
Funding ivf: How much will I need? - Fertility Network UK
Funding ivf
I'm sure there have been other posts on this so maybe worth searching? There are a lot of variables. My initial rounds were about £3.5k plus £1k if you need ICSI, I live in the Midlands. Medication is on top of this but I don't pay for mine, think it can be £500 - £1K per round depending on protocol (others will be able to confirm). You can look at buying a multi cycle package as well through Access Fertility. You also need to factor in things like freezing, storage, transfers (after the initial one etc) but these are included with Access so it's often worth considering.
Have you had an initial appointment with a clinic? If so they should be able to give you an idea of what you're looking at for treatment based on your protocol etc.
Our cost including drugs and all the tests & storage fees etc came to around £7k, this was IVF only, ICSI would have been another £1.3k if we'd needed it.
you’re best off contacting clinics directly and having them give you a rough estimate based on what you need I.e needing donor sperm, eggs, icsi, iui embryo storage, PGS testing and having a quote done to exactly what your needs and protocol requirements are, IVF isn’t a one size fits all when it comes to costs, you could also look into schemes where you or your partner donate eggs or sperm as a way to get a discount on IVF, these can sometimes save some money off the total cost
If you use a nhs clinic but pay privately it is slightly cheaper than private company but you will still have to go on a waiting list for things like donor sperm or donor eggs unless you can get these from a private bank or private donor/partner because you will be on the list with alot of other NHS patients, which is a disadvantage if time is not on your side, where as you don't have to wait so long with a private company. I went to a consultation evening at Care, they gave me a price list. I think it amounted to about £9000 all together for one cycle for what I needed but I had to be on the strongest IVF meds cycle though.
