Hello! I had embryo transfer yesterday and have been taking vaginal pessaries for a few days now. My question is-does anyone else have problems with this? I've had the pessary come out a few minutes after I've inserted it (sorry for the gory details!) a few times and I'm worried that it's not working. I know there's supposed to be some discharge but this is pretty much the whole capsule being discharged.

Pessaries!
Try popping it up then lying down for 20mins. That is enough time for the progesterone to be absorbed and whatever leaks out after that doeant matter.xx
Think quiet a bit can come out as sludge or when you wee. If the whole thing is coming out though, I'd make sure it's pushed far enough up
WhAt about inserting it rectally? My clinic suggested this and I dont have any issues
I used them rectally in the morning and only used them vaginally at night when I'm going to be lying down - had no problems xx
I do it rectally too which has caused me no issues at all. It sounds worse but it really isn't...much easier than i thought and hasn't given me a single issue. I know it works well too cos my lining was perfect for my transfer day
Your nurse should have advised you to stay laying down for 20 minutes if inserted vaginally. If inserted rectally then you don't need to lay down and the muscles in your rectum will hold it in place. It just gives you the feeling you need to open your bowels but that's because of the pessary x
100% for the back of way as well, I don’t know why everyone doesn’t do it, no mess, no hassle, no lying down - easy once you get your head round it!
Yes much prefer the back, less messy, no having to lie down and you know it won't come out.. it's a win win
