Nothing! Or at least if you are I am too! I am covered in bruises - not only where I inject but all over my body, just one of the side effects I am afraid! x

Thanks Daisy.

I have them in other places too but these ones seem to be getting worse! Itā€™s a small sacrifice if this works šŸ¤žšŸ»

Good luck x

I moved to injecting into my bottom because I couldnā€™t cope it them in my tummy. It hurts less! Consultant said it was ok! Best to check with your consultant first though X

Thanks Jengi. If this continues I might see if I can move them. Random question but how do u manage to inject on ur bum yourself or do u get help??!! X

I do it myself! I do it on the side of my bum cheek.....the only bit I can reach. It bruises less but still stings! Iā€™m now nearly 3 months injecting, Iā€™d dread to think what my tummy would look like!

Try the top outer flank of the buttock, you should be able to reach it as itā€™s closest to you when you reach round. Stay clear of the centre of the buttock due to nerve. Good luck xxx

Ah I feel you! I stopped mine 4 weeks ago and still have bruises!

Have you tried putting ice on the injection area first? That helped me a bit.

Unfortunately because of them thinning the blood, bruising is going to happen šŸ™„ I found these the most sharp of the lot too! xx

Thanks CLD. Going to try ice in the morning.

How many weeks did u continue them for? X

I continued until my 12.5 week scan. I had enough to use until then so thought I may as well use them up.

Put ice on first and after youā€™ve pulled injection out just rub the ice over again xx

Try to insert them straight and fast. I am not good at doing them myself so most days my hubby does them. I still bruise but they are much smaller. Xx

Ouch that looks sore!!šŸ˜ÆIs it the pre filled clexane you are using? I try to pinch an inch (quite a few inches to choose fromšŸ¤£šŸ™ˆ) put the needle in really slowly, inject slowly, take out the needle slowly and give it a rub afterwards. I haven't given myself any bruises so far this time.xxx

I asked my clinic about this the other week as I had the same and they said we have dense tissue under the belly button and straight down in line with nipples, so it will be more sore and bruise more in those areas. Iā€™ve moved to my outer thighs now and alternate legs. Still bruises a tiny little bit but no where as bad. I also angle at 45 degrees to ensure it definitely goes into the fat which has helped so much! Xx

My tummy looked like that when I was on them and Iā€™ve administered thousands to my patients over the last 10 years! So donā€™t worry you probably arenā€™t doing anything wrong at all :) Little tip though try not to press or rub the area after (as much as you will feel you want to) As that makes the bruising worse x

Completely normal! My belly was like this during my first cycle this summer. Sometimes it bruised and sometimes it didnā€™t - my husband did my injections so we tried different ways and cinders is right, doing them slowly helped a bit more (and I bruised less towards the end of my cycle) and ice too! xx

This is pretty common, and I confirmed with my nurse at the time and my friend who is a doctor and both said itā€™s just something we have to live with unfortunately. I found it a bit easier to cope with in my thigh - was worse doing it but better for bruising afterwards.

I'm on them just now and I'm finding it difficult. Its been 3 and a half weeks and I'm running out of space that isn't bruised or sore and it's so itchy! Glad I'm not the only one, if you know what I mean. I will be so glad when I'm off them!

Thanks ladies, I used ice, pinched a big bit not near my nipple line, did it slow and didnā€™t rub it after and woohoo no bruise this morning šŸ˜œšŸ˜˜

If you have had blood clots in lungs or legs from AF or no known cause It could be due to high homocysteine level which most Drs wouldnā€™t be aware of.How do you get a high homocysteine level ? It can be from a vitamin B12 deficiency which causes nerve damage ,clots & anaemia ,low platelets. What I am saying is your Drs are not aware & your blood thinners are causing anaemia resulting in bruising. You need to go back & ask for active vitamin B12 ,homocysteine,MMA,folate, iron, rbc magnesium. Some of those anticoagulants are irreversible so it important you check with your Dr now.
