**Sensitive** Donor Egg Recipients: stopping med question??!

So I’ll be 12 weeks on Saturday and my scan is on Monday.

My clinic in Greece has given me two different set of advice:

1. Stop all medication on Saturday but before doing so chat to my care team incase I need to stay on some meds. They know my scan isn’t until Monday.

When I questioned this advice & highlighted that I probably won’t be seeing a consultant at the scan they then advised;

2. Stop oestradiol, Clexane and progesterone vaginal gel. Reduce my progesterone tablets from 600mg to 400mg per day for a week. But talk to my care team before stopping.

I feel more comfortable with option 2 but I only expect to see a sonographer and midwife at my 12 week scan on Monday & not a consultant. Am I right to assume this?

Does this make sense to those of you who have been through this before? Will the midwife be able to make a decision about meds or should I ask to see a consultant? I’m sure it’ll be fine but if there is something I need to do like seeing a consultant then I need to know & be proactive. I’ve had a nightmare with this clinic and this poor communication is the straw that broke the camels back !

Thanks lovelies

Xx

Hi love, afriad i cant give advice, but im sure someone here will. Just wanted to say well done and congrats, it's so amazing you are where you are, even with stress from the clinic not communicating well. I'm sending love 😍😍. I'm gearing up to an FET in next months, if that doesn't work, probably donor in the future.

Thrilled for you xxx

Hey, my scan is on Wednesday!

My consultant prescribed my oestradiol and progesterone pessaries up until 11 weeks. So that’s today. She said after 9-10 weeks your body will have taken over. I’ve read on here people get nervous and reduce to one a day for a while. I’ve decided just to trust her. I don’t think the hospital staff will have much experience in IVF.

Hope this helps. Not sure if the doner egg angle changes things?

Good luck on Monday! X ✨🌈🤞🏻

I stayed on my doses of progesterone up to nearly 20 weeks (not a DE, so not sure if that makes a difference). I was really nervous about reaching 12 weeks and having that ‘support’ taken away after so many years of trying and something then going wrong. I was told staying on progesterone doesn’t have any adverse effects. This was over 2 years ago now so policies and procedures might have changed. My advice would be to speak to your consultant. Go with your gut instinct and what you feel works best for you xxxx

I was really worried about stopping progestone particularly. I spoke to my doctors they would not give me anymore nor would the clinic. Luckily I had enough to keep me going till past 12 weeks. Till 16 weeks then I stopped..Still worried though. Xxx
