Split FET transfer during October

Hello lovely people,. Well we had our nurse's consultation by phone yesterday afternoon, I start Buserelin on the 24th to kick off our 2nd/3rd FET session. They want to do a split transfer. I am all over the place and we haven't even started yet. I am understandably unnerved by the whole split transfer thing but also the whole COVID situation as well.

I have 90% of the meds required seeing as our last session was scrubbed, we don't have that cost to contend with, thank goodness.

I guess that I am just worried that this is all going to go pear shaped again. This is our last go at IVF and if it is another BFN, then It's all over.

Thank you for listening

18/09: Well, that journey was short lived - had an email form the clinic saying that they have put up their fees and we would have to have antibody tests for COVID at £90.00 each. So we have to find an additional £700.00 plus the cost of drugs before we even start this cycle. With the virus spreading rampantly in the North and moving fast down the country, and our clinic in London, my husband just doesn't want to start ANOTHER cycle and get that cancelled as well. Talk about a kick in the guts!!! I'm so sick of this journey now....I just want to crawl into a very large and deep hole and forget that I was ever born.

First of all wishing you all the best for your success on this one 💖

I've never heard of a split transfer though, but am intrigued - what is it?..

Hi, the split transfer occurs when they thaw all the remaining embryos at once and transfer one or two and put the rest in embryo culture to try and get them to 5day stage or blastocyst, of successful then they do a second transfer into the uterus 2-3 days later than the 1st transfer.

Hi, I have copied the previous reply into your answer, apologies:
