the long awaited day has finally arrived, we have our transfer happening today! Incredibly anxious/excited that we’re finally at this point after so many diversions along the way. It’s our first IVF cycle so all very new still.
Does anybody have any advice for post transfer- any suggestions or big no-no’s for what I should be doing/eating or do I just carry on as normal, exercising etc? Feel like I’ll want to stay still to not disturb anything for the whole two weeks!!

Good Luck today! Only advice I had from clinic was to not put anything hot near my tummy so no laptop or hot water bottle as it can damage embryo, no baths swimming or sex fir two weeks to avoid infection and to avoid running or cycling apart from that there is nothing that will effect outcome so just live normal life. The 2ww is long and the following is what I have learnt to do to keep my sanity (I lost the plot during 2ww in first cycle 🤣). Wait till OTD, stay away from Google and find something to take your mind off the waiting like binge watching something, reading something, trying a new hobby. Also give yourself little treats you've done amazing to come this far! Plan nice things to do with your partner like a meal out, trip, cinema, etc. Good luck x
I was sooo bad on my first cycle Googled everything and it just turned me into an anxious mess 🤣. After that I rewarded myself everyday I didn't look at Google with cake or ice cream like a child 🤣 x
it depends. After my experience personally I'd stay resting, periods legs up. bed early, more bed, no anything! But that's me!The only thing I would done differently would have said I can't use pessaries as I am allergic to the drug carriers. I should have it by another imjection instead!
If you start cramps then go straight back to them.
Out of 11 woman I shared the same start with me only 2 stayed pregnant but I don't know whether they produced babies.
thanks so much for your advice! I’ll defintiely bear all in mind - there’s so much information to trail through. Pessaries are ok at the moment althoigh i think my dosage of them + elleste were too high but who am I to say!
Good luck! I found minimising contact with others helped me to stay calmer as not absorbing others energies etc and I did not do any home pregnancy tests. I just waited for the blood test from the clinic as did not want to torture myself. Most importantly listen to your body and you’ll figure out what’s best for you. Hoping you get a positive result 🤞🏽
this is so true, thank you for sharing!! I have to work unfortunately but hoping it’s a good distraction from counting the minutes/hours/days! Thank you so much for your well wishes xxx
I took the first 5 days off which was a week as it fell over the weekend and then worked from home. But as no one knew what I was doing it was easy to manage.
I stayed in bed mostly except bathroom visits for the first 2 days. Socks on for 24 hours after transfer. No caffeine. No sodas. Just rest and binged on shows I had planned in advance and slept as much as possible. After that I started on slowly getting back to regular routine, but no exercising till 12 weeks confirmation. That is me based on my past experiences. Had the delivery in Jan this year and recovering well.
thank you so much for sharing! I have to be on my feet at work from today but jjst taking it as easy as possible. Thank you again, so glad to hear your happy outcome x
