Hi ladies, I'm 41 and starting my second IVF cycle (long protocol) after a failed first cycle (6 eggs, only 3 ok embryos and none made to blasts) and a MC April 2019 (natural). Feeling a bit of an uphill battle but trying to stay positive. Freaked out a bit yesterday as on day 7 of stimms and not much progress yet on first scan. They've upped me to 450 Menopur. I think cause of how the short cycle felt so quick this is now making me worried! Anyone else doing a long protocol now? Or anyone with advice as to how long it took them to start getting good follicle growth after down reg? My next scan is Friday so 🤞until then and trying to relax as best I can...

Starting second cycle IVF
Hullo, nice to meet you and thanks for sharing your story! I just completed a long protocol. Started stimming (375 menopur) on 21/8 and initial scan on 28/8 showed that my follicles were growing nicely. However, the scan on the 1/9 showed that my follicles were not at a good size (I think they look for above 1cm which indicates possibility of eggs in them), so they upped my dose to 450. My next scan on 4/9 showed good response and so was booked in for egg collection on 7/9.
I also panicked when my follicles weren’t behaving the way I thought they should. But apparently it is really common for them to play around with meds to get the right response from you. So don’t panic, your follicles could just need a bit more stimming and time like mine did xxx
Did your ovaries respond? My body never came out of the suppression after I stopped synarel and I am suppose to believe I entered a natural menopause
I got a response but it was 75% lower than the short protocol.
I'm so sorry to hear about your issue, have you gotten a second opinion about the Synarel influence? Was that your first IVF round? 💕
Yes that was my first My eyes were so bad I couldn’t really use my phone and eventually I researched the eye side effect and it is a serious side effect of synarel and I should of gone to hospital but the nurses switched me to decapeptyl instead.
Now they want me to believe it was a natural menopause but my blood tests show my hormones were perfect then after taking synarel estrogen and progesterone plummeted to post menopause levels and never returned.
