So I was at the fertility clinic today and the nurse told me that they aim to do my first IUI in October.
My fear is, today they tried to do a blood test for CMV and couldn’t get any blood from me, tried twice before I fainted. I’m hoping this isn’t a regular thing but two weeks ago I fainted during my hormone blood test too!

I had a similar problem when having blood tests, I always used to feel really faint afterwards. The phlebotomist told me to drink some water immediately before and after a blood test as it raises the blood pressure. I tried it and it did work for me.
Hi Teresa Exciting news on starting IUI. On the blood test front I feel your pain! I often take about 5 goes before they can get blood from me! I fainted once too as with IUI there is a lot of blood taking! What I found helped was drinking lots of water And telling the nurse that it is difficult to get blood from you, quite often they will go get someone else If they are newish. I also found running from car to the clinic helped get my Blood pumping before hand too 😂
Another thing that helped me was making my appointment a little bit later. When I hade the first apppointment before 8am it was worse. I think my body needed some time to wake up 😊
They can also try your hand- it does bruise more but I don’t find it was any more painful than the arm. Hope to gets better for you and believe it or not you do get used to it 🤗 xx
Haha I love that! I’ll run to the clinic from my car. I joked with the nurse going I’m gonna have to just get use to passing out 🙈🙈
My appointment Thursday is later so hope that does help 🙂 glad to know others are similar Cos my sister in law just went to me oh well you gotta get use to it! I’m like I’m fine I’m not scared of blood tests just my body collapses x
