So im wondering what the general consensus is regarding having sex after getting a positive result.
Our clinic has said we have to wait until we've had our 6 week viability scan.
None of my friends who have got pregnant naturally were ever told they weren't allowed sex till after 6 weeks, so im just wondering why it's different in ivf and why clinics say different timescales to women?

Our clinic says there is no need not to have sex and to just carry on as normal. But equally I know some clinics that even say wait up to 12 weeks!! I think its personal choice really!
I think generally clinics are over cautious as its taken us all so much more to get pregnant than many natural pregnancies so why risk it.
I am not sure my partner would be thrilled with a three month no sex rule so we have always continued as normal post BFP but just been careful nothing to athletic (!) so we dont compromise the cervix etc x
My clinic didn't say anything. But maybe its dependant on the treatment and the individual? My problem isn't anything to do with my oven. Maybe if you have cervix issues its a bad idea. Can you get clarification off your clinic as to why then you can make an informed decision.
Me and Hubby haven't waited, and haven't had any problems. I know some people have spotting afterwards which would scare the crap out of me, but haven't had anything like that. Although navigating between pessaries and feeling sick it doesn't put you in the mood too frequently!
