An MRI scan is pain free so try not to worry. There is a lot of back ground noise with MRI's so they give you headphones and play music etc. The staff will try to make it as relaxing as possible. They may need to give you contrast into the back of your hand but apart from that you shouldnt feel a thing.xx

Thank you Cinderella- I have even more questions: what do they actually do on the day? Do they insert a probe in? How long does it last? Is there radiation or anything like that going on?

MRI scans do not use radiation....its magnets that produce the images and a probe isnt inserted. I havent had an MRI pelvis but its usually around 45mins depending on the sequences that are to be performed. You just need to lie still lovely.xx

Hey, I have had several of these - nothing inserted- just a bit noisy and you need to lie still - other than that really easy. Just try not to worry or think about anything they will unlikely be able to give results there and then!
