Hi guys which do you think presents a better result? d3t or d5t?
D3t or D5t?: Hi guys which do you think... - Fertility Network UK
D3t or D5t?
I recently had a 3day transfer. The embryologist explained to me they only grow them to 5 days to help them select the better quality embryos. They will generally do this if there are a good few to choose from. So although studies show there are more positive results from a 5dt this is down to the chance the embryologist has of selecting the better quality ones rather than a 5 day transfer implantation being more successful than a 3 day transfer. However during my recent cycle I only had 2 so they recommended a fresh 3 day transfer.
My history is I had one live birth 🎉 (now 4 years old) as a result of my very first cycle using a double 3 day transfer using similar grade b embryos.
I then went on to have a BFN as a result of a FET using a 5 day grade b embryo.
I then got another BFP as a result of another double 3 day transfer, both grade b, but sadly ended in early miscarriage.
Currently am in my 2ww from another fresh single 3 day transfer, using my very first grade A embryo. 🤞🏼
I hope this helps as I was always confused what day was best for successful implantation. x
Thanks dear for your reply. I was called upon for a d2t. I'm just not ok with it. I'm just wondering why d2t
You’re welcome. I have only heard of day 2 transfers if for example you may only have one embryo & think they hope the chances are better sooner they transfer ? Did they give you an explanation ?
I have had transfers on day 2, day 3 and day 5. As Hope says its normally to do with number of embryos and quality. I have only ever had enough to take them to day 5 once.. I have had a day 2 transfer when either day 3 would have been a Sunday or in the most recent round I had 2 poor quality embryos so the thought process was get them back where they belong asap.
I have seen LOADS of BFPs on this forum after a day 3 or a day 2 transfer. My consultant always reminds me until a few years ago they only ever did day 3 transfers and always got a lot of BFPs
You definitely need to trust your clinic. How many embryos did you have? x
I had 3 5 day transfer and 1 day 3 transfer. I have a baby boy from day 3 transfer x
I used a 3 days embryo first time and both sticked though I miscarried one, but I'm pregnant with one now. They embryologist explained that they embryos do better in the womb than in the lab. I had 6 fertilized eggs from 9 eggs, transfered 2, 1 dint do well and the remaining 3 reached blastocyst stage and are preserved. So 3 days embryo is as good as a 5 day in my opinion. I wish you all the best. x
Hi dearies, I finally went to my clinic for the transfer, I was told I had 9 fertilized out of 10. 5 grade A and 4 Bs. I asked for transfer of 4 grade A s. I finally had the day 2 transfer. My clinic claims their D2 have been successful these days. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Thanks a lot dear. Wishing you all the best.
