I am 6 weeks today and today I felt slight cramping on and off through the day and then light bleeding... is this a bad sign?

I am 6 weeks pregnant today but I noticed light bleeding today. My viability scan is due 24th August. The nurse did say you may experience bleeding. I am so anxious now.. 😰

I would be grateful for any insight please x x x

Updated:

So had a call with the nurse and she told me to take it one day at a time. She said it is common but if it gets heavier and constant to then call her back. She said continue with the pessaries and the oestrogen tablets until my viability scan in 2 weeks. Thank you girls again for your support 💓

Hi Olivia just to put your mind at rest. I had bleeding on /off basically from week 1 - week 12 but had a very healthy pregnancy. I panicked every time I seen blood but was assured at the scans. Good luck with everything 😘🤞🏼🍀

Glad I could help. I know we just constantly worry. Am only 2dp3dt barely slept, weird dreams, up twice to pee, convinced feeling twinges already. Know it will de the progesterone but driving myself mad 🙈

Fingers crossed for your OTD! Yeah I got up 3 times to pee last night. You constantly worry but it's hard to relax..I hear as long as it's not full on bleed it's a good sign which it is not thank goodness

Congrats! You made it to 6 weeks! Don't panic! I had exactly the same thing and was freaking out. It all depends on the type of bleeding you're having. Pink,brown or red blood? If it's light, you probably have nothing to worry about but I would call the nurse anyway just to be sure. Having said that, loads of ladies on here have bled and all has been ok.

I am 8 weeks today and I had some spotting on and off from 6 weeks. It's stopped now but I freaked out. They scanned me and all was ok. 🥰

To stop myself from losing my mind is that as long as it's not heavy, bright red with painful cramps, I'm ok. If it is and im having a miscarriage then there's nothing I can do to stop it from happening. I know it's a harsh thought but this whole journey has been a rollercoaster... Why would pregnancy be any different 😅

Anyway, I'm rambling.... Call the nurse in the morning and just see what they say 😊 I'm sure all will be ok. Let me know how you get on xx

Please don't panic. Bleeding and cramping is really common. I was 6 weeks on friday and had a tiny bit of spotting, I freaked out just like Lumie. But everything seems fine now, I still want to throw up most of the day, my boobs still hurt. Give the clinic a call tommorow for advice, and in the meantime try to get some rest. I had light spotting at 6 weeks I was convinced I was having a miscarriage it was implantation bleeding. If your worried maybe contact your early pregnancy unit for reassurance and to put your mind at rest.

Hi Olivia,

I was bleeding red blood at 6 weeks and i also thought i was miscarrying so went for the scan 3 days later and there was a heart and the bleeding was coming from the wall of my uterus so doctor asked me to take it easy.i have been having private weekly ultrasound from 7 weeks and im 10 weeks now everything is good so far will go for my last private scan tomorrow and see if all is all well as i lost all the mild symptoms i had since week 8

Thanks Savane for your update. It is nerve racking. I just spoke to the nurse and she said to monitor the bleed and take it one day at a time. I was considering doing a private scan to keep my mind at ease as I constantly worry and monitor all of my symptoms. I just bought a digital test that shows the weekly status as the last time I did it was OTD and it showed 2-3 weeks pregnant. I want to try it again to hopefully see 3+ weeks. The things you do to get comfort 🙄💓 all the best in your journey!!

In my opinion those test will make you more worried.so many women complained over the digital.if you have the money you could go for a private scan when you are 7 weeks.there is a cheap one.it s called window to the womb and it is £49/scan.i know the waiting time is even more stressful but i will say if you don t have have bad cramping and heavy bleed you r fine.

I had bleeding with every pregnancy I’ve had & apart from 1 all have been fine. My grown up son I had fresh blood like a period with him at 7 weeks ( but no pain) My daughter I bled with 6-14 weeks I had mostly brown spotting but did have fresh blood with clots at 10 weeks ( no pain) . This pregnancy I’ve had brown spotting from conception & fresh blood twice ( again no pain) I’ve been testing to put my mind at ease & am relieved I’m still getting very strong positive tests & symptoms are getting stronger to me it doesn’t look like a failing pregnancy. I did experience a loss between my son & daughter- it was very different to the spotting I have had in the other 3 pregnancies. It was first of all severe abdominal pain followed by bright red discharge which soon turned full on bleeding very heavily with huge blood clots I mean size of your fist clots this was a loss at 4 weeks. It was pretty intense unlike spotting once it started it didn’t stop until all content was dispelled like it was never there. Lots of women spot in pregnancy but have healthy baby I don’t know anyone who hasn’t lost blood at some point in pregnancy ( they’ve all been happy outcomes too) Unless it’s pain accompanied by very heavy bleeding try not to worry ( easier said than done) severe pain is usually the first sign of impending miscarriage . Rest up as it can happen when we over do things xxx

Hi Jess this is a massive relief to know bleeding is common especially to your extent and you had healthy l and successful pregnancies. I am sorry about your previous loss. I’m glad. It’s so very common - 30% of women get it. I wish it was more talked about so it wouldn’t be so scary.Also with my chemical the pregnancy tests went negative straightaway. When I have spotting I test & it puts my mind at rest. I’m also 6 weeks 1 day . We are halfway to getting to 12 weeks 💪 xxx

Wow so we are due exactly the same day (for now) 🤞🤞 my digital test just arrive and now it says 3+ weeks so that's comforting and my bleed has eased off now. It's very slight there but brown (sorry for the tmi).. 😳...
