4 days after transfer

Hello, I appreciate this is a ridiculously anxious post but I’ve wound myself up. I had my first embryo transfer last Thursday (So I’m 4dp5dt today). I STUPIDLY listened to my friend nagging me to start testing and did one this morning and it was negative. Now I’m worried as I’ve seen on instagram some people have had positives this early on.

I was wondering if anyone had early negatives and went on to get positives? I’m half just thinking I’m an idiot it’s far too early and I shouldn’t be worrying and half just thinking the negative test was a sign of what’s to come. Help!

Thanks!

Hi Mary - 4 days is too early to test! Please please do yourself a favour and resist testing until your official test date. The TWW is so hard but it makes it even harder if you're staring at tests trying to decide if a line is or isn't developing. You have to try and take your mind off it until you can know for sure. Wishing you lots of luck xx

I second LCharlton. 4 days is wayyyyyyyy too early. Yes, you see on insta some people getting positives from day 5 on FRER, but it is by no means the norm. I am a serial early tester. Something about my personality means that even after four transfers I struggle not too test, but if I could get a hold of myself I really wouldn't test till day 9 because that is the only point when you can start taking the results seriously and even then it is unsure till your beta.

If you can, re-start your day but that negative behind you and recommit to enjoying these days with your embie(s). Sending you lots of strength. The 2ww is pure hell. xxxx

Thank you that’s really helpful. It’s harder than I imagined. I’m worrying about everything I do xx

I know that feeling. It is so so hard. This is a GREAT challenge and you have to mentally wrestle your way through each day. xxxx

Ahh you’re not an idiot! Please don’t listen to your friend though, this is your life and now your worry!

Implantation can take up to 5 days & even longer for some so please don’t give up hope yet as it’s probably not quite snuggled in yet.

Keep going! You’ve got this xxx

As everyone has said, it’s still super early so try not to worry! Some people do get early BFPs but definitely not everyone! I got mine at 5dp5dt (it was stark white at 4dp and very very faint at 5dp) but my friend didn’t get hers until 13dp5dt so it is very different for every one on every cycle.

I’m not going to tell you not to test anymore as I have zero willpower so I won’t preach what I can’t manage myself 🙈 but just remember that if you do test early and it’s negative than it doesn’t mean it’s over. Sending you big hugs and lots of luck xxx

Thank you for the reassurance and kind words.

Given how low I felt today I’m deffo going to leave it 3 days before I try again or maybe even longer! X

Are you using first response? If so earliest I’ve had a clear BFP is the evening of 4dp5dt with a single transfer but if you are testing with anything else especially those cheap test strips from Amazon where you get 10,000 for £2.99 🤣 i didn’t get a BFP on those until 2 days after first response

Ha well that’s good to know because the one I used this morning was a multipack amazon strip one. I do have a first response in the draw but I’ll save if for as long as possible given how depressed today’s negative has made me x

Hi I am guilty of that too 4dp5dt and first thing i did deleted all the apps which made me do it hahahaha, was super anxious to do it truthfully and came negative and I got upset than I read here that watch comedy movies or bake or colouring book paint 🎨 and i am in peace right now since I deleted apps today i am 6dp 5dt and I am calm by the grace of my lord.

I would say the wide amazon strip one bizarrely showed a clear positive before the thin strip ones but I panic bought late at night and had no idea which ones I was buying! Looking at my tests from a couple of weeks ago the wide one showed a super super faint line 5dp5dt and the thin strip ones 6dp5dt

Anything can happen. Too too early for the embryo to be producing HCG that can be detected in the urine. Positive at day 4 has HCG from trigger, at least part of it. I would test again tomorrow to confirm that is negative. Then you can be sure the trigger shot HCG is gone. After that any positive means implantation!

Hi thank you but this was a very old post, I’m not sure why it came up. That transfer gave me a chemical pregnancy x
