I had an embryo transfer done on the 13th of November …first attempt …and after waiting patiently and avoiding testing I caved in and tested today .I had a positive result but now I feel worse as I don’t know if it really is a positive or not . I regret testing I should have waited . Has anyone experienced a positive after testing early and if so was it really a positive ? I was going to test againg in a few days and offcourse on the 27th as advised by my clinic but this wait is harder than I thought .Anyone in a similar situation with a success story ? Please share any experiences on this. I had my trigger injection on the 5th and 6th of November could that be the reason it’s a positive ?
Thank you xx

hi, I tested 3DP5DT and so on. I posted a photo on my page. When you test early you need to take into consideration that it might be your trigger medication but I think by 9 days it should be out your cycle. I know a lot of people say not to test early but do what you need to do to feel better. I’m still wanting to test now after my OTD. Good luck xx
Wow u tested very early I’m 6DP5DT congratulations on your positive . There is no way I can wait either might have to test again in a few days 🙂 this is torture as I hate waiting … does the medication \injections still continue after a positive result ?
I’m on progesterone tablets and lubion injections .I was wondering after the actual test day and if positive do they injections stop or is there more meds to be taken and if so for how long X
I just wanted to say I have everything crossed for you and hope for a positive for you!! We got told to keep taking the progesterone until viability scan - then we got instructions from there. So we took it up until around 8 weeks.
hey I tested at 4dpt and got a faint positive it was my first transfer too then I tested every other day and the line got strong my little girl is now 16 months 🥰 best of luck but yeah u can get early positives 😊
Hi! I’m trying to figure out the backstory based on the dates you’ve given. Did you transfer a five day blast?
Trigger shot hCG wears off at around 10 days post injection. If you triggered on the 6th, the hCG should have worn off by around the 16th. Today is the 22nd so I don’t think you’re going to pickup any residual hCG.
If your transfer of a five day blast was on the 13th, then including the 5 day head start you got, the two week wait would have ended about the 22nd (today). You certainly could have tested positive yesterday or today and I think it’s highly unlikely there’s any trigger hCG left in your body.
Can you confirm for me how many days the transferred blast was when transferred?
Yes I transfered a 5day blast on the 13th of November . It was actually transfered 6 days after the egg collection that was done on the 7th of November . My clinic told me to test 14 days after which is the 27th of November ? I tested yesterday which is way early . I am not sure what you mean about the 5 day head start I wasn’t told this is counted Towards the 14 day wait ?
normally if you were timing unassisted sex, your 14 day wait would begin on the day you ovulated. Since your blasto has already developed for five days at transfer, it is as if during natural sex fertilization had occurred five days before your transfer. Those days count as you’re skipping the five days that the blasto would be otherwise descending your fallopian tube to your uterus. So, 9 days would remain of the 14 for you to reach a full 14 day wait.
Here in America, there is a trend for testing as few as seven days after transfer; I think the shorter number of days may be used when a blasto is hatching at transfer.
If this is hard to compute, the other way you could look at your situation is that you’re testing positive way after any trigger hCG could be remaining in your body. The only other place hCG could possibly be coming from would be a developing placenta.
I don’t know about NHS clinics, but they may have you wait 14 days post transfer because at that point you would be at 19 days “post ovulation”, and there would be no question as to whether you were pregnant or not.
I would say in your case to be optimistic. Continue to test and let me know what you come up with.
