BETA Test on day 10

Hello All,

My clinic has asked me to come in on day 10 for a beta hcg test and then told me to test few days after at home using a pregnancy test.

If the beta test is negative then do i still test few days later at home? if it is positive does that confirm a pregnancy and also will i need to follow that up with a pregnancy test few days later?

I am confused any information would be appreciated, thanks.

Hi simz, hmm that is very odd. My clinic does beta at 9dpt and if its negative that's it. A beta blood test picks up even the tiniest amount of HCG so if its negative I dont know why they would ask you to retest at home that makes no sense to me..not like its magically going to be positive when a blood test is more sensitive than a pee stick. At my clinic beta has to be over 50 to be deemed viable, if it is then the beta is redone 48 hours later to ensure numbers are doubling as they should. You may have to ask your clinic these questions as even I'm confused as to their procedure. But best of luck for your test day! Xx
