FET- cant loose weight!

19 months after one successful IVF we are getting ready for a FET. The problem is my weight! My BMI is 26.5. On a good day its 25.8

My weight changes daily by 1-2 kg. I dont if its the endo (severe) or hormons playing up. Had a recent miscarriage, in April, at 10 weeks and put on 4 pounds then. Cant shift a pound now! Started running in 1st may, at keast twice a week for 30min. Pilates twice a week. Good, health diet, limited alcohol. Nothing changes. Im getting really fed up and upset.

My last period was horrible and im thinking we may have to go on the pill before FET because my endo may get worse by the time I get my BMI right.

Do i need to have the correct bmi before fet? Please say no..

Any tips on losing weight healthy and quickly?

Sorry for the rant, just having a bad day...

Hey, sorry you are struggling. For me, my weight and hormones became balanced eating a kind-of paleo diet with a big plant focus. I realllllllyyyy recommend the approach of nutritionist Katie Price at Heal Endo. My pain, bloat and even the endometrioma I once had on my left ovary are gone. She also talks about all the pillars of health, esp considering the impact that stress, lack of sleep etc Has on endo and weight! Find her philosophy here:

Lots of luck and love to you xxz

Hi. Your BMI is fine. They don’t start to worry about weight until your BMI is well above 30. Everyone’s weight changes daily depending on when u weigh, what u wear, wether u have had a wee or a 💩!

Eat healthy and do some exercise and be good to yourself!

Good luck with your FET! X

Thank you. My worry is that they wont let me go for the fet if my bmi is too hight?

Can the weight really change that much a day? Im so annoyed, been trying very hard, exercising, eating well and the weight went up!

Hi. I am a dietitian and weight patients on a daily basis and weights change from morning to night!

‘Normal BMI’ is under 25 so u r just outside this range. You r by no means over weight in comparison to most of the patients I see!!

Fertility clinics don’t start to worry about weight until you are well over a BMI and then you are often referred to a dietitian to help you loose weight.

You have enough to stress about other than your BMI so don’t worry about that just be as healthy as you can! Good luck. X

Thank you. It means a lot. You made me cry a little with a relief. There's so much to worry about and i think not being able to loose weight is just another things that seems to be out of my control.

Thank you

Hey Buisquits, my BMI is very similar to yours, usually around 26. I try really hard to lose weight, eat well, barely drink etc. I have PCOS and I think this makes it hard for me. Who knows! It’s so frustrating. Anyway, I just had a FET recently and it wasn’t an issue at all. It wasn’t mentioned. I think it’s only if it’s over 30 that they like it decreased. You’ll be fine ☺️ xx

Your BMI is fine! Buisquits! ☺️ As long as it’s under 30 You shouldnt worry. you would be much better trying to keep up your great healthy habits and focus on your mental well being in my opinion before your transfer. A couple of Pounds here or there won’t make a difference to your chance of success But could put extra stress on you at an already tough time mentally By trying to lose them 🤗 best of luck to you xx

Your BMI is ok so try not to stress about it! The NHS treats BMI's of up to 30 and they are tight with things so I would say all good!!xx

I had 2 miscarriages and a failed IVF cycle. I went on a strict carnivore diet for 1 year, I felt fantastic and lost 12kg.

I was peri-menopausal with all the symptoms including pains and headaches, heavy periods, every symptom vanished on the diet and periods normalised.

2nd round of IVF much more successful, all 11 eggs fertilised with 3 PGD normal blastocysts. I’m now 13 weeks pregnant. Goodluck, it’s a hard road but well worth the journey.

Check out Facebook “carnivore diet for beginners”, “carnivore diet for fertility”, dr ken berry on YouTube “salt”
