I had never ohss high oestrogen and over 40 follicles last Monday and triggered Monday night for EC Wednesday. Come Wednesday went in for my EC and they couldn’t get any eggs and wondered if I triggered correctly? I don’t understand of course I did! So the follicles are there but they couldn’t get any eggs? Has this happened to anyone else?! They said maybe to trigger again for Friday EC trial but my oestrogen was too high so and would be too high risk for ohsss!!?
I’ve not heard of this before - Did you do a single or double trigger? Was it with ovitrelle or buserilin? Sounds like maybe the trigger was done too early or it wasn’t high enough dose to lessen the eggs. What sort of size follicles did you have?
So did you have another egg collection yesterday or did they say no?
They said no as my oestrogen was too high and didn’t want it to cause OHSs. Hmm I did it exactly 10.30pm Monday for my collection 36 hours later at 10.30aam Wednesday! So do you think it’s because my body didn’t respond to the buserelin? They said I couldn’t have the gonasi Trigger as it was too Strong for me and could lead to severe ohss?
Wow! I would have thought they’d want to get the eggs out so at least you’d feel More comfortable as it must be painful having that many eggs on your ovaries!
It does sound like you didn’t respond - I would have thought you’d need a high dose for so many follicles but ive only ever had between 2 and 14 eggs when triggering

I had my EC on Wednesday and my trigger on Monday wasn’t strong enough. So no eggs from my right ovary despite seeing plenty on the scan... I didn’t know this was a thing xx
Oh thank you I didn’t realise it was a thing either! What have they said you’ll have to do next time to avoid this happening again??
