I am trying my best to eat healthily during my ivf, I am including lots of nourishing foods which I enjoy. My worry is I crave chocolate when feeling stressed. I don't want to completely deprive myself but want to give myself the best chance possible. Had anyone got any tips on stress eating?

Well done on the healthy eating, and it's good you're enjoying the foods too. have you tried an organic darker chocolate?

I've started having a couple of squares after my injection and I really enjoy it, as much as I would love to have a huge bar of dairy milk! My tastes have changed a bit and I can manage having small amounts, and makes me feel more relaxed too xx

I gave in and had the occasional full pack 🤭. I just couldnt stop my self and felt sorry for my self sometimes. I need to be kind to myself and have a snack or two. The best think that works for me is not to buy it. If i have it in the house i will have it xx

I drink highlights hot chocolate when I crave chocolate. You get a good chocolate hit with limited calories. xxx

Hi Lavendartea. Good to hear you are eating a sensible diet. A little treat won't hurt, so if you like chocolate, try and stick to a couple of small bars a week and make it last. These are the foods I recommend.

Carbohydrates - Wholegrain bread and wholemeal pasta, oatmeal, brown rice. All fresh vegetables especially raw or steamed. Over boiling rids them of vitamins and minerals, pineapple juice, apricots, potatoes, all fruit and honey, beans, chickpeas and lentils. Protein - Organic meat if possible, poultry, fish, Milk and hard cheese, nuts and seeds. Fat - Extra virgin olive oil and sunflower oil, avocado and peanut butter, mackerel, sardines, nuts (especially Brazil and walnuts), seeds, sweet corn and sweet potatoes. The things to avoid are too much sugar, processed foods, ready meals, butter, ice cream etc. A little is OK, but not all the time. Drink plenty of water and only a little tea and coffee if feeling deprived. Cut right down or right out – alcohol and smoking. Oh and don’t forget the Folic Acid and Vitamin D! Good luck! Diane

Hi.. It's a good start for ur ivf... Yes u can have your chocolate but buy sugar free dark chocolate with 90% cocoa, mint flavor, sea salt flavor with no sugar which on biting makes you feel enough but not the sugary one which won't let you stop..... It's ok to have a cheat day once in a month but remember to limit portions.... The only way to avoid bad food is to not buy it in the first place!!!! Gud luck... Be positive...
