Any food and drink tips for embryo Transfer?

Hi ladies!

I am having my embryo transfer tomorrow (fingers crossed all is going well!!) Does anyone have any recommendations on the best things to eat and drink at embryo transfer stage and during the 2ww?

I have heard of pineapple but it doesn't really suit me so I will avoid this...

I suppose a healthy diet is the best but if there were added bonuses I would like to add them in :)

Thank you!xx

I drank alot of pomegrante juice, and i got a bfp! But i have read that drinking certain things and eating certain things are all myths and its not been proven that they actually do anything and my clinic told me to not get too hung up on all that kind of thing! But its worth a try isn’t it! Good luck xx

Oh great, I have pomegranate in the fridge which I have been drinking. So I will continue! I know it’s not worth getting too hung up on it! Thanks for your message 😊xx

Actually, sorry to interfere, but I thought it might be useful to share my own experience with pomegranate... in fact, it made me terribly sick (I had too much), with nausea and headache... I thought it was the HRT, but in fact it happened also when I was off hormones!! So I just decided to steer clear of pomegranate altogether. I read that drinking too much of it indeed can disturb the stomach and guts.

Pineapple core (the hard bit) contains bromaline which is considered good for womb health. My nutritionist also recommends oily fish 3 times a day, for the protein but also for the Omega 3 (fish oil of good quality if you do not manage that). Other things like not drinking alcolhol and reducing caffeine also are meant to help. Good luck!! xx

Thanks for your message 😊that’s a good point to consider so thank you. I only drink little bits of it (like 100ml or less) it is quite strong so I can agree with giving an upset stomach. Probably a bit like prune juice. I’m just going to eat well and drink plenty of water ☺️Xx

I read somewhere, that salty foods are good to have once you’ve had your transfer. Get yourself some McD fries after 🤣 other brands of fries are available 😝

I second the pomegranate option! Someone also told me not to eat any cold food as the blood rushes to your tummy to warm it up for digestion instead of your uterus, don't know if this is true or not though but something I've stuck too. so lots of warming soups/stews. Cinnamon and cayenne are meant to be good too. All the very best to you xxx

Don't get too caught up on those things. The best thing you can do is have a healthy diet more for yourself than the embryo. If it's going to implant then it will if not then it won't it's really that simple. It helps mentally more than physically but I know you can't help but feel like you want to do something to improve your chances. I brought a pineapple after my ET but it sat on my window ledge and turned mouldy and I got a BFP. My advice from my clinic was eat what you want to. Don't start making changes now stick to what your body is used to. Fingers crossed for you and stay positive. A positive mind helps more than and thing else.x

Hey!! I drank pomegranate juice, ate pineapple ( only a small amount) and walnuts. All in moderation though didn’t go over board. Didn’t drink anything cold (room temp only) . And kept my feet warm. I am 29 weeks now but I honestly don’t know if any of this stuff made it work! 🙈😂 the crazy stuff we do ah. Xx good luck with your journey xx

Congratulations! Thanks for your message! I’ve been trying to keep my feet warm and cosy at all times as I read that too! I’ve been drinking pomegranate juice like every other day and I’ve just started eating walnuts! So let’s see if they have any impact. Fingers crossed 🤞🏼Xx
