What side effects have you had from the dreaded pessaries?

Hey

I have sore breasts and I am quite emotional. I also get the occasional headache other then that I don’t have any other side effects but obviously different for everyone.

Hey I wasn’t too bad with them I really found cyclogest tooks it’s toll on my mental health and would give me really bad tummy ache. I stopped them Friday and instantly felt better xxx

I'm on the cyclogest pessaries and do them rectally as vaginally is just too messy and a faff to have to lay down whilst it absorbs! Side effects are largely mega sore boobs, my emotions are all over the place and I don't know if it's the progesterone or pregnancy but jeeez I'm having such vivid dreams constantly every night, which are waking me up every couple of hours. I am also on the prontogest injections too...

I think bloating was the most noticeable for me xx

Hi Freyabelle. This drug acts on the pituitary gland in the brain, so you can get nausea, headaches, along with breast tenderness and bloated tummy. Make sure you can drink plenty of water which should help counteract some of the side effects. Good luck! Diane

Thank you everyone. I think I’ve noticed headaches & nausea.. I thought it was the pregnancy before but now I’m thinking it’s the hormone xx

Hi all, I’m just piggybacking on this thread, but did anyone get any kind of brown(old blood) discharge (🤢sorry I hate that word) I’m due for a fresh 5day blast transfer tomorrow and I’m scared my period is arriving too early or is this normal?

in reply to Rebecca2384

Hi. Im due my transfer tomorrow and got the same as you (brown old discharge) and was wondering the same.

Im going to call the clinic in the morning to check if this is normal.

Half of me kinda thinks it is as I had egg collection Friday so guess its old blood from that x

Oh good luck on your transfer 🤞🏼💕.what kind of progesterone are you on? My clinic has me on such a low does even though I’ve bled early in other transfers. They said with fresh I only need a low dose 90mg, but this is the nurses and they are starting to get ‘fussy’ with me asking and I can’t seem to talk to a Dr. we are self funded and I just need reassurance.

in reply to Rebecca2384

Thank you.

Im on Utrogestan 200 x3 per day.

I think you will be fine. Mine has subsided now.

We are self funded too but the nurses and staff are all really helpful.

Sorry to hear you are not getting any answers xx
