Yes, I have had 4 IUIs unfortunately none of which succeeded. It’s actually no different than having a baby naturally, if you ask me. You need to measure the follicle sizes and endometrium thickness and then a trigger shot for ovulation will be given once the follicle size is above 2mm . Within 36-72 hours after the trigger shot, they do the insemination. My recommendation is to just to thru IVF in the first round itself than to waste time and money on IUI. My first IVF worked and it was a missed miscarriage. I am waiting for my cycle to start the procedure for FET. Hope this helps 😊 wishing you good luck.

Hey there are 2 types of IUI natural and medicated. Has a fertility doctor recommended IUI for you? It all depends what is stopping you conceiving naturally whether or not this is an option and whether it can be natural or not. I had 3 natural and 3 medicated. Essentially the natural one the clinic will track your ovulation, lining and follicle numbers through bloods and scans and when the time is right pop the sperm in. For medicated the clinic take over your cycle and time your ovulation with meds and a trigger shot and then put the sperm in. If you approach a clinic they will be able to give you a lot more specific info for you. It didn’t work for me but I know people where it has done. Hope that helps 👍🏼Xx

I’m currently going through my first assisted IUI cycle. You call the clinic on day 1 of your period and then you have a vaginal ultrasound on the 2nd/3rd day of your cycle. Given that the thickness of your womb is correct, they then started me on medication on day 4. You have a couple of scans in between and I believe they do the actual IUI on day 20 of my cycle.

So it takes about 3 weeks from the day of first bleed.

If you’re not going down the medication route then I don’t know about those timings.
