I had two bleeds on one month. Do I wait to next month what does this mean?

If I am peri menopausal then what can I do?

I used to have this regularly. It can happen with PCOS - mine would either be twice in one month or I’d go 3ish months without one

If you are peri menopause doesn’t matter you can still have IVF but your egg quality might be poor so you might need DE to get pregnant. You can still become a mum x

What can they give you for egg quality

There are tablets that can help but depends how you respond to drugs to what they will do with the IVF cycle. You need to go to a doctor and start investigations on your fertility if you have not been... They will take blood and ask how long you have been trying to conceive? you age will be a factor and what your BMI is.

There isnt anything that can be given for egg quality unfortunately. Some supplements can perhaps help but no actual medication.x

Hi. I have noticed that you are posting on several forums. Often the questions are the same or repetitive. If you genuinely have fertility problems have you sought treatment via your GP? If not, perhaps you should as you don’t seem to be getting what you want from the questions you’re asking. I’m confused. Diane

I am still with my gp. No money to start treatment

I know you have previously dismissed counselling in a previous post. But, maybe if you asked the G. P to refer you to counsellor through the NHS. (It may take a while to be referred depending on the area you live in especially due to cronona) this might help you to cope with the frustration of being childless or coping strategies while you save money for your treatment. I have had counselling to help me when I had a number of failed IUI treatments. Maybe you should talk to your G. P about how frustrated you feel about currently not having a child. Can I ask why you left it so long in forties to have a baby?

I would not advise people to have unnecessary treatments

If you’re worried about being perimenopausal, your GP should be able to either do a blood test to confirm this, or refer you onto an NHS gynaecologist who can confirm or deny this xx

Day 21 bloods or day 4

I think it’s a blood test to check for FSH (follicle stimulating hormones) and estrogen levels xx

I don’t know as I personally haven’t had it done but know people that have, but if this is something you’re interested in, definitely speak to your GP and they’ll be able to get the ball rolling xx

At the moment with covid...I am staying away from gp surgeries

Most GP surgeries are doing appointments over the phone / FaceTime to minimize the risk to patients. I’d call them and book something in, the sooner you get advice and support the better with fertility as it can take ages to go through the various tests etc.

You can also buy blood tests online from Medichecks and Triva to test hormones - Day 3 blood tests will give you a picture of your hormones and a report as to if they’re normal. Day 21 bloods will tell your if you’ve ovulated but may not be helpful if you don’t have a “normal” 28 day cycle. You can order the tests online, do a finger prick on the relevant day to collect the blood and send back, they’ll then email results.

I’m afraid I can’t remember if you look on their sites you can search for the tests.

I had to go to the GPs and it’s actually really safe, you wear a face mask, they’re in complete head to toe PPE, no one with covid symptoms is even allowed near the GPs, so it’s very very safe actually, felt safer going to see my GP than I have felt going to the shops. You shouldn’t avoid seeking medical treatment if you need it because of covid, the government have said that xx
