Hey. I'm due to start short protocol on Thursday. I was told to use another form of contraceptive from last month to ensure I didn't fall pregnant naturally. As far as I know they don't test although some clinics may be different. Xxx
Thank u and good luck ull b going thru it same time as me so keep in touch xxx
Hey Hun I was told that I can try naturally still and the medication wouldn't affect it. They said when you go for your scan they will know because your lining will be thick rather than thin x
I did think that...I go for my informal chat Monday but I'm on day 19 so they will start me then apparently. I take it they will do a scan then ???xxxxx
I had my nurse appointment last week and she said as I have already had a period my day 21 is this Friday so I will be starting my bursellin injections then. I will then have a bleed during my next period which is the week after and then I need to call the clinic for a scan from day 5 to day 10 of my period. Then that's to check for any cysts and to make sure your lining is thin. If its not thin you need to carry on taking the bursellin injections for a little longer. But every clinic is different so yours make tell you something different! Xx
I had the same query for my clinic - they assured us that there is no evidence of harm for embryo if natural pregnancy happens. For me that just felt wrong though! First few weeks of embryo development are crucial as that's when all the organs are forming so flooding your system with a drug that puts you in a menopausal stage, just doesn't seem right. The Bureselin leaflet said not to use if you think you are pregnant as we don't know what effect it may have... and in my opinion IVF has not been going on for long enough for us to know the true effect of these drugs on any babies conceived naturally during the cycle...
Ladies called my clinic and asked them they said it's fine to still try xxx
It's good to have you ladies on here as I feel all on my own xxx
No, they don't test in my experience and reading... you should have been told to abstain or use condoms during your whole treatment cycle.
My understanding is the drugs wud not be gd for an early foetus.
I know its hard, after months of ovulation testing or whatever, but now you are in treatment, don't TTC naturally.
Best wishes. Xx
I've spoken to my clinic they said it's fine to try xx
