Hi my dear... sorry to hear you have a hydrosalpinx.... I suffered with the same thing. I’m not sure you can treat them without surgery as the leaky fluid can come and go again. I had to have surgery and in the end the right thing to do was have my tube clipped and then proceed to ivf which thankfully was successful..... hopefully you will be able to resolve it so that you won’t require any more surgery but I think it’s the only way how xx
Hi I had/ have it? I still done my ivf treatment. As I was told to continue.
Leading up to my treatment I done hot actor oil pack using cold compress castor oil and a hot water bottle. Look it up. I don’t no if it worked I think it did as my ivf worked first time. Do your research no harm in giving it ago once you looked into it.
Fingers crossed my 2nd ivf will also be successful
Yes I done it and had no issues. Not that I can remember don’t have any discharge now either. No I didn’t have any pains when pregnant apart from normal pregnancy pains.
They did say that with hydro there is a chance the fluid can leak etc. But I won’t told to remove my tube and honestly I didn’t want to do that as then my chances would be gone for ever.
Did they say what caused the hydro to come?
When I went to start my treatment to did tell me that if they saw it on the scan they would cancel my treatment. But thankfully its never shown.
Ok dear, that means it wasn't really a serious one for it not to show on the scan.so apart from castor oil packs, what else do you use to manage the hydrsalpinx?
Sorry to hear this. I also had a left side hydrosalpinx, my experience was that I was advised that to move forward with IVF I would need surgery to clip or remove the tube as the fluid that can flow back into the womb is generally what stops pregnancy happening (as it turns out we had male factors that we weren't aware of at the time) I had surgery in August 2019, I found the recovery quite easy compared to other things I've had done but obviously that can be very different for each person. I would get advice from your clinic/consultant on whether they think surgery is the only option x
Hi Bidemi, I'm so sorry to hear that and that you're recent pregnancy ended so sadly.
I found out the same from a HSG test and hoped that I could clear it naturally. I was referred to a clinic for IVF but they spotted the fluid at my first internal scan and explained the risk of continuing while fluid was present.
Sorry I can't give more positive news but I had the tube removed in January through laparoscopy. It was really neat and tiny scars, 3 weeks off work and confirmed at a scan that fluid has all gone.
Really hope you can find an alternative and you can continue to having a family. Take care x
Thanks for your comments. I have just found out about my hydro on left side also. It was never picked up 2 years ago during my surgery for stage 4 endo. Am now faced with this new issue and at least there’s hope.
No problem at all. It's so annoying when they miss things.
The hospital who spotted mine initially told me it wasn't a big deal as I still had one good tube but the ivf clinic sent me some info which basically said that the fluid can be harmful to embryos so left untreated could be preventing pregnancies from developing. Sounds like you have had surgery from the endo so at least you know what to expect. Once the hydro is sorted hopefully increase the chances of natural or IVF working.
