What are the chances of fluid collecting back in my tube and my hydrosalpinx returning?
Anybody been in this situation?
Trying to get as much infomation and facts before seeing my gynae on friday!
Thanks in advance! X

Hi Nickimidge. Not too sure what you wanted to ask about this condition, so I will cover it as best I can, with apologies if you already know some of it. The condition called “hydrosalpinx”, which when translated, simply means water in the tube, can keep reoccurring or be permanent. Fallopian tubes have a natural lubrication in them to allow sperm to swim and the egg to travel down. Occasionally, the end of the tube(s) called “fimbriae” can stick together. This then blocks the “exit” for excess fluid to escape. There is then only one way out for this fluid and that is through the womb end of the tube. Many consultants now believe that this excess of fluid can prevent implantation of a developing embryo, as it can be “washed” out. Because of this the tube is often dealt with in one of three ways prior to treatment. The whole tube can be removed, the end section (blocked) end can be removed or clipped,
Your consultant/doctor will explain which option he/she feels would be best for you. Hope this helps. Good luck. Diane
I'm just anxious and curious of what he now might do, seen as the tube now looks as though there is now no fluid? Do i still have hydrosalpinx? Am i cured? Or is it still classed as a longstanding condition?xx
I'm currently not under a fertility gynae, so very worried that i'm just going to be sent away and that theres a chance the hydrosalpinx will return!x
I had one tube removed in 2011 and the other one cleared, then in 2016 found that it had appeared again in my only tube, so I had to have it clipped.
So I'd definitely recommend having it checked to see if it's come back and if it had maybe have them clipped
I was diagnosed with a hydrosalpinx nearly 5 months ago and obviously we didn't know how long i'd had it, prior to the diagnosis, i've had 3 transvaginal ultrasounds in the last 5 months, 1st one was was it was discovered, the 2nd one was just a referal for it which showed it have actually got worse and my 3rd which was only last week showed that there was now no longer any fluid in the tube, or atleast thats how it looked on the ultrasound! I've got my next gynae appt on friday and i'm worried that because he isn't currently seeing me for fertility reasons he's going to just send me away because the fluid is no longer there and i was just wondering if theres many cases where the hydrosalpinx has returned and is there a high chance of it returning! So many questions!!!x
I also had this condition. And my doctor was telling me that I have to remove it. My fallopian tubes are blocked and also dilated due to the liquid formed by infection and inflammation. It caused pain and first I did not know what happened. Although most of the time the pain disappears with the period, the pain got severe with the aggravation of hydrosalpinx.
The doctor told me that the best relief of hydrosalpinx pain is the one that can eliminate the hydrosalpinx. And she advised me ever to take a pill, or make the surgery. I was lucky to check to different doctors, because I never had confidence in just one opinion.
So there were doctors who told me that the pill is the best reliever of hydrosalpinx and its pain.
So, I got to be free from methods such as antibiotics or surgeries, the pill brings no damages on body or organs like livers or kidney. The pill has all of its herbs from plants is a safe but pure herbal medicine. It is as safe as food but the doctor told me that my body can get used to it, and never react again to it. So I have right now to be prepared to change the method of treatment.
I had two blocked tubes which miraculously cleared again. Consultant advised to go ahead with transfer and am now 19 weeks pregnant. So it doesn't need to be a problem. But it can be. I decided with my specialist to take the chances and forego surgery. If I'd have miscarried twice we'd blame liquid and remove tubes. Thankfully we didn't get there Good luck!
