I've always given up caffeine as much as possible months before a fresh collection. I'm not sure if it's as important for a FET? Might it affect lining or something? I need motivation to give up! Planning on doing so at least for when my period for my frozen cycle starts.
I've booked my frozen transfer for Nov 7th. It's my last 2 blastocysts, due to age, that I worked hard for. I don't want to mess up.
Any advice, evidence, knowledge or tips appreciated in relation to how to prepare - do's and don'ts
Thanks

Hi Orangeflowers , three days before my FET I had a couple glasses of champagne as it was our wedding anniversary. It was successful (although late loss) but I just focused on being happy, comfortable and relaxed. In terms of caffeine, I’m sure you can still have one or two cups of tea/coffee during pregnancy (forgot how many micrograms) but maybe switch to decaf a few days before transfer if you’re unsure? X
Hi, I'm not sure to much about it but I've been having one cup of tea or even two sometimes daily because my ivf clinic said anything up to 100mls if fine and I'm 12 weeks and 1 day pregnant with a little boy who is doing really well
I know you will want to do absolutely everything to make the transfer successful but I think within reason not much makes a difference, and small amounts of caffeine is probably fine. I've had early losses where I did everything 'right' and rested, took a holiday... and so far my successful FET was where I didn't really change anything, and now i'm unexpectedly pregnant naturally when I did literally everything 'wrong' (including having a very boozy month...) I don't drink coffee but I had a couple of cups of leaf tea every morning until my body decided that it made me feel sick and I switched to hot chocolate (which still has a little caffeine). I think diet is probably most important for egg collection whereas with a FET the embryo is already made. But if you're going to feel that something you did or didn't do changed the outcome and you will feel guilty about it, then it's probably better to not to regret x
I switched to decaf coffee but had occasional cokes etc.
To be honest, if you’re not consuming excessive amounts, I’m not sure how much difference it actually makes.
My first three rounds I did so much ‘by the book’, reflexology, acupuncture etc and none of them ended in a successful pregnancy and for my final round, I went on holiday, enjoyed an occasional coffee, had no extra treatments and tried to relax… and it worked!
I think ultimately you have to be kind to yourself and if you enjoy a coffee every now and then, I don’t think that would affect anything tbh.
Yes best of luck I’ve had one FET cancelled and my egg collection was in July so I massively feel in limbo can’t wait to just get an embryo in me lol x
I switched to two cups of tea in the run up to my successful FET. From what I have read, reducing caffeine is important once the transfer has happened to lessen the risk of miscarriage. Very best of luck with your transfer!
