Hyper-ovary?

I was wondering those of you who have had overstimulation during ivf. Do you feel more for your ovarie/es that got overstimulated around ovulate time?

Just wondering cause I feel more for it this year and I just wonder if it might relate to overstimulation I had in november.

Nothing much painful per se, just feel it more. Maybe it is just me :)

Hi Janua,

Which side do you feel it on? I always feel something on my right side and the time the scan showed a cyst it was on the right too. Stimming i felt right more as well BUT i had more follicles on my left. When i asked the nurse that she brushes me off by saying the ovaries are very close together so no idea why u feel it on your right. I feel it to my lower back as well and sometimes think maybe its my liver (?). Does it go away after ovulation? Sorry not alot of help. X

Hi Mimisami

I feel you, I have always felt a litle cramp around ovulation but after the overstimulation I have just felt it more on the right side. And the pain is just 1-2 days around ovulation.

I have always had more folli les on the right side. And I think my right ovary had then been “beaten” hard in the overstimulation cause it had more eggs.

But hopefully it will go back to normal.

My GP has at least not seem any cyst in my 3 visit to her after it.

Iam just as much litle help for you too :/

Hope you will find out soon

So glad you gp does checks. I hope it is a sign that your ovaries are working and they do what the need to do x

After every round of ivf my ovaries get more and more painful around ovulation - I had OHSS this time and now they are even worse. There are causes like cysts but sometimes it’s just bad luck I think x

Hi JanuaRuna. Perhaps you might need to have a scan to check whether you may have an active cyst that is filling up then going down again. This can happen once you've experienced OHSS. Hope all soon settles, but see your GP if it doesn't settle. Diane
