HPT instruction

Hi, I have just done something really silly. I bought a HPT and used it 4 days after the expected period. The instructions say the lines in the window will appear after 1 minute and result can be read after 5 minutes.

I somehow misread that and only waited for one minute. It came as a BFN. As soon as I realised the mistake the next day, I rushed to the bin to check the test again and it was still BFN. The question is had I waited for 4 extra minute, would the result change? How does the result usually show up? If it came as BFP, would the line disappear the next day?

My period has been delayed for almost a week now and my temperature hasn't drop back. I am going really crazy and I can't believe I didn't use the test properly. Now I have to wait for another 3 days for my new order to arrive.

I still have my pregnancy test strip which is positive at time of testing and its still the same color till now....it wont change day by day unlike ovulation strips which turn darker day by day....

The line darkens over time so what could be very faint to start with can get darker. This would still be there the next day. I still have my pregnancy tests from my 2 positive cycles....(didnt work out) and they still have lines on them. The reason that it tells you not to read them later is you may get a false positive reading which is just an evaporation line although this has never happened to me, my negatives have always been and stayed stark white.xx
