I’m almost 5 weeks. I’ve called the hospital for a blood test to check my hcg and progesterone level but they said it’s not an emergency. Anyone can advice. I don’t want to risk a low level of progesterone and go through a miscarriage. It’s my first ivf fresh cycle.
Thank you

I know the clinics are trying to minimise people coming through their doors. You could perhaps try medichecks to get bloods done, most of them offer finger prick tests but obviously this is all done via the mail so it takes time. Good luck with your pregnancy.xx
Hi there
Are you assigned to a midwife as yet? I’m 6 weeks tomorrow and only have just got a blood test from my midwife for this Thursday. I also have managed to get a early scan privately which I am also doing Thursday evening to put my mind at rest. Do you have the option to get a private early scan somewhere?
It’s so hard but try not to stress yourself out, I know easier said than done. Keep positive x
Neither of those tests are given by gps/hospitals in the UK as standard. Normally you would have them through your IVF clinic or you can pay a privately for them through somewhere like Nuffield. I honestly think you might struggle at the moment to get one even paying privately because of the COVID situation.
That’s normally enough for most people so try not to worry! Have you had any bleeding? If you haven’t then its a good sign your progesterone level is normal.
I’m in a similar situation. I’m 5 weeks. I did a home test on the weekend but can’t get any checks through my private clinic or the nhs. I cannot book a viability scan as my clinic has been taken over by the nhs. Although i’m disappointed and concerned, i’ve been told that it’s just the way it is which I totally accept. I’m going to have to wait til 12 weeks 😭
You should still be able to book a viability scan privately. A lot of private ultrasound places are still open. Try Window to Womb? If you can get one, try and book it for 7 weeks as that’s when they can confirm a heartbeat x
I didn’t think I could ring the hospital directly. I’m going to give it a week or so and see if my gp or clinic get back to me. If they don’t i’ll ring. I just feel that the nhs have got such a heavy work load at the moment without me adding to it.
Your gp has nothing to do with it anymore, that's what they told me when I rang yesterday and gave me a phone of the hospital where I'm supposed to have the birth.
But they are not accepting people at the moment only for the emergency
Thanks I will investigate. I wonder why some private clinics have been taken over but not others. I’ve already paid for my scan with my current clinic. Thanks for your reply.
The clinics I’m referring to are purely ultrasound clinics. When I went to the one near me, they said a lot of women don’t want to go to the hospital or are very upset about having to do the whole thing alone so they are staying open as long as they can to provide that service x
