Due to 2 of our top graders not implanting we’ve been advised to have a lining biopsy see I’ve all the timings/lining Flora is correct
It’s a pricey thing to pay for, @£1500 for it all. But if it helps us to find out what’s going on then so be it.
Has anyone else had this done? Did it help?
Is what you're talking about called an ERA/Alice/Emma biopsy? If so, then yes, I had it done back in Sept/Oct after my first FET of a PGS hatching resulted in a chemical pregnancy.
I had did the ERA in conjunction with a Hysteroscopy which is when they knock you out like when you have an egg retrieval. They have a camera to look around to check there isn't any scar tissue or polyps, misshapen uterus etc they take the biopsy at the same time so it's not painful. You'll get cramps and bleeding afterwards but is not too bad.
My results came back that my next FET would need the timing adjusted by 12 extra hours of progesterone prior to transfer. It also came back that the good bacteria (can't remember if it's Alice or Emma) was really low so I also needed vaginal probiotics. My bad bacteria/infection was low/normal so I didn't need antibiotics.
We did our FET the following month using the ERA biopsy results and we got a bfp! I'm currently 21 weeks and praying it continues.
I would 100% recommend getting an ERA/Emma/Alice done so you don't waste any precious embryos and will feel safe in the knowledge that you can eliminate timing as the issue if it does fail.
I must also add that I used clexane for the first time in this successful fet. I'd had all the usual blood clotting blood tests done and they were all normal but after the first FET failure I demanded more extensive tests so my Dr sent me to Dr Raj Rai at St Mary's hospital to test for a rarer blood clotting issue: TEG/ pai-1. These came back positive and meant I needed daily clexane just before fet and for 6 weeks after birth. I'll also need clexane prior to any future long haul flights or before surgery for the rest of my life as I've got a higher risk of blood clotting and stroke. This was an important test that many Dr have not heard of but may also be the missing piece of the puzzle.

Wonderful you've made the right decision. Also try and get the blood clotting TEG and pai-1 done if you can. Unless your Dr is already putting you on clexane then that's no point in testing for pai-1 as they just put you on clexane anyhow

Hi hun I have my phone call consultation with my doctor 2morrow after another FET failure . Since last year I lost 4 good embryos . My all blood test was good and no issues with lining. The last cycle this feb embryologist was really happy with my embryo saying that all cells expanded very nice and with smile on her face said ...I hope u don’t need to use the other one for quite time....
I was thinking about hysteroscopy or ERA test last year but my hubby was like u don’t need it . I believe that something is not quite right and my guts telling me to do it. Do u have any advice hun what should I ask her 2morrow?

When you say you have good embryos are they PGS normal or just highly graded? Out of the 9 blastocysts we retrieved, 3 were abnormal 6 were pgs normal. Interestingly 2/3 abnormal blastocysts were actually top graded and we would have used this first in an FET because they were the best. They would have ended in miscarriage or failed to implant. So grading doesn't really good much credence apparently.
I would insist on having an: ERA/Emma/Alice biopsy and Hysteroscopy also get tested for this specific blood clotting test:
TEG and pai-1 I think it's only done at St Mary's hospital in London by Dr RJ Rai did get your Dr to refer you for that test.
I had all the normal blood tests and they all always came back normal...I had unexplained infertility...so it wasn't until I got the TEG and pai-1 blood test that I finally discovered a problem.

In 2016 I had my second fresh cycle. From 6 embryos I only had two grade A left so one was transferred and one to freeze. From that I felt pregnant. My baby girl is going to be 3 in may.
Last year after checking my AMH level which was 5.7 we decided to do one more fresh and we where lucky to gain another 3 frostie and one grade A+ was transferred. Didn’t work so last August we went through natural frozen cycle and two embryos was put back in one of them from the cycle I had my baby girl. Didn’t work so this feb we try medicated frozen cycle but before I repeat all blood test and I done one extra for blood clotting which come back good .
My pregnancy was really good but I had planned c section because she wouldn’t turn head down . For quite while I had pain where the scar was and bit of injections but after few months everything come back to normal.
I haven’t had PGS done and I haven’t heard about TEG and pai-1 test?
I’m 40 this November and we got only one left frostie 😔 hun. Xx
Maybe just ask about it ERA Emma/Alice test. It’s private to do it but it seems to me like it’s totally worth it. Xx
I only know about ERA but I read about the other two and I would definitely mention that 2morrow.

Ive had this done. My timings were out by a full 24 hours....I need one full day more progesterone than "normal people" and this does tie in with my previous failures. Ive yet to see if it works as Ive not been able to test it out due to lock down but I am glad we have found something that was very much out of the normal transfer protocol. I know the lady below had success and also know of someone that had success after this too.xx

Hi, im quite new to this site and was interested to read your post. I have had 4 embryo transfers in total ( 1 fresh - resulted in miscarriage & 3 failed FETS) i had decided go ahead with the ERA, Alice & Emma tests just before all the covid stuff started, so will be waiting to start the process hopefully soon when the clinics get up and running again. The company that does the tests is in spain so i am interested to find out how soon the courier service can get up and running again obviously with travel restrictions etc. Would like to keep up to date with how you get on with your testing and stuff. We have 3 frozen embryos left, nothing major really wrong with either of us so 'unexplained' i suppose. At least if something came back off this test it would give some kind of answers! Sorry for the essay ha xx
That’s fine! We are waiting til they reopen in May but someone my husband know has just had it but took antibiotics just before 🙄 so the results were invalid. We have 4 embryos left so hoping like you this explains what’s going on x
