My partner has been had tests and been told he can father a child. Do I now go to my gp and talk about sperm donation?
Sperm donation : My partner has been... - Fertility Network UK
Sperm donation
Hey, Im not sure what you mean by sperm donation but for assisted conception then yes....if you have been trying to get pregnant for some time. They may well want to do some tests on you before referring you to a clinic if you havent already had them done. You may not find it very easy to get a GP at present with the current covid-19 crisis. Good luck.xx
I will be using a sperm donor for my fertility treatment. Yes booking an appointment with the GP is the first step to sperm donation. Some people use the hospital clinic's own sperm bank, some use European Sperm Bank, Cryos or Xytex.
Thank you. My husband has had tests and sadly he has nothing but I will try my gp next
Depends if you are going to an IVF clinic privately ... if so, you don’t need to go to a GP but straight to the clinic
Hi Klgriffiths. If your partner has just had one semen analysis done, then he needs to have another one done 2 months after his previous one. I don't know how bad his result was, but perhaps you could have a form of IVF called ICSI, if the count, shape or the way the sperm swim is very poor. If the second result is bad, then hopefully your GP might be able to refer you to a specialist for donor insemination. You would need to have your Fallopian tubes checked out before that was attempted. Good luck. Diane
Thanks for that. My partner does no ejaculate hence why he was tested. So we have been told theres a way to fix it with a operation that's only a 50/50 chance it will work. Thank you for answering my questions
