Im really sorry to keep posting 😔 particularly as i know people are going through awful times at the moment. Im just not sure where to turn.
Ive been really constipated since starting progesterone after egg collection approx 6 weeks ago. However over the last week this seems much better. However, i’m getting really sharp pain in my tummy when i have any wind or need to open bowels, and i’m having really sharp pains low down for a couple of hours after ive opened my bowels.
Is this normal? Its really sharp 😞 i havent got a community midwife yet and clinic have just said go to GP which is easier said than done at the moment 🤦🏻♀️
Any ideas?

Hey I don’t know the answer to this but there is an NCT page that a lot of successful BFP women go onto so you find someone there knows the answer 🤞🏻xx
Yes it is the extra progesterone from pregnancy causes havoc with bowels. I really suffered in early weeks with my bowels, isn’t pregnancy glamorous 🤣There is a stool softener you can use that is safe in pregnancy- the midwife or pharmacist should able to advise you don’t need a prescription. I hope you feel better soon xx

sorry I was supposed to do an update Francesca is well thank you for asking. She’s mobile now so really busy now & when she does nap which is only twice I find myself catching up on housework! I’m not complaining I am grateful to have her ❤️ Hope you are keeping well? xxx

Of course you are grateful but parenthood isn't easy for anyone no matter how it comes about!
We are fine here and have come to terms with things.
No its fine to keep posting if its something that's really bothering you rather than keeping it bottled up inside.
Even though there's this crisis going on it doesn't change the fact that you have things upsetting you so post away!
Yes it’s definitely the progesterone, which causes bad constipation. I take 500mg of magnesium (1 tablet) every evening before bed and drink about 8oz of water and that seems to help keep me regular. If after a few days you still don’t feel any relief, then feel free to up the dosage to 1000mg
Hi Sunshine92, I had the same issue. I actually thought I had haemorrhoids already! But I think it was just the fact everything was so swollen down there after egg collection and the BFP and was pressing onto my nether region. I started using lactose and haemorrhoid cream which helped a bit. But the pain disappeared once I hit 16 weeks or so. I was so glad! Hope you manage to find a solution xxx
I have the exact same thing! Such an excruciating sharp pain and then fine as soon as I've been to the bathroom. I'm 11 weeks and it started last week... going to my 12 week scan next week and will mention it to the midwife.
Really hoping everything is ok... Being in lockdown has given me way too much time to think!
If you are constipated and pregnant it's safe to try Lactulose...this will soften stools so easier to pass and lessen straining. Warm water may also help to displace gas which can cause that horrid Sharp pain. My go to are pears. However still follow it up with GP. Hope you feel better soon.
