Tests after a positive

Hello

We haven’t got a positive yet. We are getting ivf in Spain but I can’t help being worried about joining the local doctors when we come home. The Spanish clinic are brilliant and I feel like they would be checking every tiny detail. But when we come home .....

Have you got your own doctors to check progesterone levels etc when your home? Anyone else a bit nervous about this? I feel like the Spanish clinic would be there monitoring from the start but the home one would probably give you an appointment in 3 weeks time 🤦‍♀️

I used a private fertility consultant in the UK for follow up appointments/scans/blood tests when we cane home. Do you have a fertility clinic in the UK you could go to as a private patient? As the NHS won’t be able to help.

My clinic don’t do any additional tests - you do a home pregnancy test on OTD and that’s it, if it’s positive they do a scan at 7 weeks to check their is a heartbeat. If it’s negative that’s it. They don’t check progesterone or do bloods or anything else. I guess what I am saying is once ET is done you are sort of on your own anyway so I am not sure it’s that different if your clinic is in Spain or the U.K. good luck xx

Hi. Usually over here, you would be booked in for your viability scan and midwife. Some GPs are kind enough to do a Beta hSG blood test, but it's not the norm. You will be looked after, so try not to worry. Diane
